Alright guys I am just looking to see what peoples opinions are of pornography. Do you watch it? Do you think its wrong in what it shows or how it depicts certain genders? Is it so horribly unclassy that you aren't willing to watch it? Or is it just one of those things that doesn't do it for ya?
 
i'll watch it, but it's not my primary turn-on. i much prefer the written word to anything. Give me a well-written piece of erotica and i can imagine the characters in my head perfectly.
 
It doesn't do it for me sexually.

I'll watch porn if the subject amuses me, some porn can be hilarious.
I also watch it if I'm curios about a certain kind of kink. i.e. I recently discovered that some people have a balloon fetish, something I've never heard of before, so I watched a few clips on it.

I find most visual porn to be boring. I mean how many closeup shots of a persons privates can you find before you get bored? I prefer stories, and even then I'm pretty picky.
 
I'm agreeing with everyone else. I can watch it, but it really doesn't do anything for me. I prefer stories and the occasional erotic picture. Besides, mainstream porn is boring, and most BDSM porn is really badly done. I like to laugh at things in porn, though! :D
 
Generally not a fan, but...

I think I'm a real girl in this regard as I am more turned on by the written word than moving imagery. I find most of it boring, particularly most straight stuff - the plots are always silly and I find the artificial look of the almost always surgically altered models/stars a complete turn off... That said, I have a real soft spot in my heart for Fashionistas, but I think that has more to do with Belladonna's stage presence and power than anything else - she's absolutely magnificent and doesn't look as artificial to me as so many hetero-porn stars do.

One of my web/graphics clients produces FtM queer porn that includes kinky elements, so the way he plays with concepts of gender and BDSM conventions is interesting from an intellectual standpoint, but I still don't find it a huge turnon if I watch it for very long. I do find some lesbian-produced porn erotic, particularly when the stars are women who look like real women. Male-on-male can be hot, but again, not for too long.

Good question. Am interested to see how things shake out by both gender and sexual orientation.

i guess this is where we fundamentally differ...and part of the reason WHY i have such an adversion to the word "slave." (Beyond societal connotations that i just can't get past.) If what you just posted above, is what it means to be a "slave," No thanks...i'll fucking pass.

HottieMama, I am sorry that you've been there. I have, also, so understand the feelings it can bring up. And I would never want to discount your pain - ever! LOL, one of the things which surprised and intrigued F about me was my huge collection of porn...as in more than a few boxes of videos, lots of magazines, and then a good collection of your more erotic type writing. It isn't a necessity, but I did choose to stay single for almost 2 decades and there were times spending a quiet night at home with a video or 2 was more fun than going out with someone who didn't have what it took to keep me simmering. I never used to like porn because the stuff my husband liked was always 20 yr old 100 lb perfect body types--something I am not. I found vanilla movies always boring.

However, when I was in high school and he and I were dating he took me to a XXX drive in. I have noticed that in most if not all the professional porn I have seen lately there has been condom use for vaginal and anal penetration. From what I remember, porn in Australia was required to use and be very visible about using condoms in their videos as far back as 10 years ago, maybe further. People thought it would decrease the turn on value, but it didn't seem to have that much of a negative effect on those watching.
