Palin won't be the top of the ticket till 2012.

Incidentally, the world is scheduled to end on 12/21/12.

I don't think we have booths anymore. They got all rusted from people pissing on them.

In Nevada, you touch the screen where it says "SHARON ANGLE" and the button lights up for a second. Before you Send, however, your vote gets changed to "HARRY REID".

Union-supplied voting equipment.
Always obtains the same result.

Chicago
Las Vegas

The funniest part of tomorrow's California election will be the totals for Proposition 19 - the legalization of marijuana.

Telephone polls indicate it is going down to defeat 80-20... Hahahaha.

C'mon -- "Hello, this is [mumble mumble ...smeitherson...] and I am taking a survey for your neighborhood. Do YOU favor the legalization of MARIJUANA as called for in Proposition 19?

"Oh, ummm.... yeah_NO! Not ME! Oh, no. Nothing like that! Okay, I gotta go. Bye."

Oh yeah that's right.

Now we have to mark a paper ballot and then feed it into a scanner.

in my area, older educated women and a few retired men run the booths. they are trained in the art of making sure the elections come off without a hitch, and that everything is smooth and on time. they watch you like a hawk. one misplaced political sticker left behind, and there could be chaos. they follow your asses and hands like trained agents.

I can't wait.
I get to vote at an elementary school and run the gauntlet of politicos outside pimping their candidate at the last minute.

Let's see...locally I am not voting for:
1. The judge who got a DUI, then got out of it.
2. The judge who had a deputy pull a kid off a school bus because his dad had a high dollar lawyer and fraudulent Mexican custody papers.

I wasn't going to but there's an amendment on the ballot that I suppose I should vote on. Otherwise I really don't give a fuck. I find it hard to care who the Sec. of State is and even harder to care who the State Auditor is.
There's some seats up for a vote but every candidate is a worthless shit. Every one of them. I have never seen an election where I really, truly hated all the people running. They define scumbag.
On a side note, we have The Boston Tea Party on the ballot and they're kinda fun because a lot of people here think they belong to the tea party so they said they're gonna vote for them. I almost want them to win just to see the faces of the idiots that voted.

I pick #2. At least the bus driver does not have a DUI nor stops at the local bar for a shot of whiskey! Of course, I could be wrong.
