:D ok, so lately the links to all your wonderful voices form last time has been passed around and i got to drool over some voices, and get annoyed that other links weren't quite working.

Since the AH seems to have grown considerably since y'all last had the voice thingy, it has been discussed that we ought to do a new edition!

SO! the plan is that whoever is willing to participate record a voice clip- anything at all (i wont be reading as i cant read with 'passion' and get embarrassed!) and we will collate and post them :)

So, people, please send me or CarolinaHeat your voice clips via email- pm us for our emails if you dont have either of us already. Caro is willing to host them for us, once we have links we'll give them back to individual users to post themselves :)

I will try and figure out how my mobile records voice clips tomorrow and i look forward to hearing more voices :D

So come on all get talking!

I'd love to participate, but I'm technologically impaired. Any tips for those of us who don't know a URL from PMS?

I'm hardware impaired as well. We probably have the necessary around here somewhere, but I don't know what to look for exactly.
Hints would be nice :eek:

I'm going to get a $10.00 microphone from Wally World tomorrow and use the little standard software in my computer to record a message.

Start
Programs
Accesories
Entertainment
Sound Recorder

I understand it will give you a minute of recording time.

For those in the UK who are mic-less, believe it or not the best ones I've come across are from pound shops - the headset I use to scream at everyone on TeamSpeak that I got from there lasted longer than my GAME one that cost £10.

And yes, I'll get recording. I'm not to blame if you hate the sound mind. I squeak. And talk too fast.

I'll start the massive search for the mic/headphones tomorrow....knackered just now.

The system I used last time, and still use to record voice mails to send to friends as an occasional treat as opposed to the written word, is a free software download called handbits voice recording

Go to the link, download the software (it's very quick and very simple). You will then have a link on your desktop, which, when you click, opens up a simple toolbar.

All you need to do is buy a microphone which you can get for around $10 or less (or if you have a head set for use on voice im-ing, you can use that), then hit the 'record' button on the handybits toolbar and record for as long as you like. You can play it back, and if you don't like it, just start again.

Once you're satisfied, just hit the 'send' or 'attach' button, and the rest is simple. It either opens up a new default mail window for you, and all you have to do is enter the mail address and hit send.

It really is very, very, very simple. The wife and I used this for months when we were apart to send each other voice mails.

Honestly guys, its very very simple.

Have fun.

actually you can record for longer than a minute it is just that it records in
sixty second intervals so once it stops after the minute just hit record again
and continue if you wish it to be longer

Yep....think that's what I used to record my last voice bit. :)

You're a genius! I'm so technologically impaired, I'm a constant embarassment to my children.

Cheapest one I found was around £6, and it was a small thing the size of a bullet, which came with a little self-adhesive holder for the side of the monitor.

I use my lappie now, so I simply use my im-ing headset.

Hehe, headsets are good, especially when you're button-bashing.

The advice I got from Red was to record a minute's worth of blank audio and save it...then add it to the beginning of the file and voila 2 minutes of record time...

I have one audible story and several audible poems. One of these can be reached through my sig line. :)

Sing, of course. It's like that American Idol show; whoever has the best voice wins...something. ;)

I think Grace has it figured out how to record to her cell phone and transfer that to PC . Maybe that's an option for some too? :rose:

Caro, i really should get to recording :eek:

i'll try to do it in the am :) if we can host it, if im around i will post it, if im not, you can for me, then at least we've started :)

~~~
Phone, IM headsets, simple mic...leaving someone else a voicemail and finding some way to upload it?
i dunno...the software suggested sounds good though.
I'm lucky that my phone is a video recorder and dictaphone at the same time :)
Great minds think alike. ;)
...or should I say "weird minds"? :D
Hmmm, are you suggesting "weird" is a bad thing to be? :D That's kind of like saying insane is a bad thing to be. Who wants to be sane?
Who says I don't want to be bad? ;)
