The *squick* thread

Now, as all of us know, everyone has their limits. More specifically, their hard limits.



So the question is: what turns up your *squick* factor? What grosses you out? What borders are you not able to cross?



Now, the intention of this thread is not to bash other kinks. Rather, the opposite: anyone who is adverse to a certain kink can post their *squick* factor and reasons, and hopefully someone who understands that kink better can educate the person with the *squick* factor.



This is in hopes to create even more bonds and strength within the bdsm community. So if you'd like to learn about some stuff you're a little unsure about, feel free to post here!

hmmm so far I havent much that is my squick factor
theres plenty I dont enjoy, but after being in the same area as a shark being dissected and smelling it...nothing can beat that lol
 
Used to be totally adverse to any urethreal stuff, almost passed out first time I watched 2 guys do sounds, now I like sounds. Caths are still kind of ugh, I can watch but I am not sure I want to do it.

Serious stomping, of the variety where things get pierced with sharp high heels, kind of erotic in theory but not something I'm sure I want to see. Not something I'm sure I'd never DO either.

Scat, not really my thing, but not really beyond the pale either.

My major squick is around the area of non-consent and therefore mostly context.

Bleah.

Now I can think of a hard limit -- forced encounters with rotted chicken.
 
Anything involving catheters/urethral play "squicks" me, mostly because I've had to undergo such things for medical reasons on a far too regular basis.

True scat play is on my squick list as well...I'm ok with giving a man oral after he's had anal intercourse with me, but I don't really consider that scat.

Needles are a big no-no for me. I'm terrified of them.

Also branding (I grew up in the rodeo world and have seen my share of branding..It is a scary, inhumane thing to me.

That about does it for me...basically I'm opposed to anything relating to scarification or extreme, extreme pain (which is a subjective term, granted.)
 
I'm not into catheters, urethral sounds...anything that has to do with the "Gyno" department.

That's great... do you think you would be able to answer some other people's squick factors? Explain how they can be harmless, if not erotic?

Maybe there are a few kinks with *squick* factors that you could explain?

Scat, incest, rape and animal play about does it for me as far as *squick* Breath play and gun play for safety reasons. Branding has some interest but I had a large burn that required surgery - that keeps me away.

I love urethral sounds and have a toy custom made for me.

I have been slow posting here because there have been more than a few such threads and did not have the energy to go over it again. That may be the reason more have not posted. Lets see what happens here.

Oh, I see. I looked in the library under "Limits" and all I saw were some threads on "pushing limits," "soft limits," "what is a limit," etc. so I figured I'd go ahead. Should I have looked harder? Or did they turn out with a big fight/conflict?

Oh well. Whatever they did, thanks for posting here. Let's see if we can get some people responding to *squick* factors now.

I seem to recall some of the discussions in threads about "edge play".

I can see a difference between, "edge play", "limit" and "squick" but have not had enough coffee today to articulate that right now.

I agree - our *squicks* are our own. They are not logical things that can be discussed away, they are more like an involuntary reactions. Of course they can be pushed through if someone want to have all that emotional work a go.

It's a great idea for a thread. Usually (and which is easier to answer) we only get threads on 'what are your limits'. But the idea that those with special 'fetishes' educate the ones who really don't like said 'fetish' is (at least to me) new. And I found the discussion we had on the 'daddies and their girls' (or whatever it was called) thread both interesting and fun.
Other than that I don't have anything to contribute. I don't think I've found any of my *squick* factors yet, and I don't love any of the ones mentioned so far.
