The night air was warm, but not muggy. The sky was dark, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky as her heeled boots moved over the gravel parkinglot of the small honky tonk bar. She was sure this wasn't going to be her scene, but she'd come all the way out here to visit family and her cousins insisted she go with them. A local band was supposed to be playing and Chelsie had rave reviews about them. Of course, Skye reasoned, the band was going to be country, and she'd never been exposed to much of the music. Hopefully they'd be good enough to make it a pleasant listening experience.

Besides, she reasoned with herself, if I dont like it I can just play like I'm tired or I've got a headache and go back to Aunt Bonnie's place early. The closer she got to the bar, the louder the music got, and the more apprehensive she got. Perhaps she should have gone shopping for new clothes before coming out here? Her eyes darted around to the other girls, who all seemed to be dressed in tight blue jeans, cowboy boots and hats, and everything from t-shirt fabric halters to just normal t-shirts. She, meanwhile, looked like she was ready to go out clubbing. But these were the only "night life" clothes she had, being from the city.

A pair of black slacks were hanging from her shapely hips, somewhat snug around the top of her nice-ly shapped bottom before falling loosely around her long shapely legs to her ankles where they rested around the black leather of her heeled boots. A shiney silk emerald halter was tied around her body, giving a lovely view of her curvacious figure and pale, creamy colored skin. Silver jewelry sparkled from her tiny ears and one slender wrist. Her hair was long and flame red, hanging to between her shoulder blades from a ponytail atop her head. Emerald green eyes were framed by long sable lashes, and her full lips had been painted a deep red.

When the doors of the place opened, she found herself squinting some and having to keep from coughing. The air was thick with cigarette smoke, and it was loud. Very loud. She couldn't hear Chelsie over the sounds of cheering and singing and the stomping of boots out on the dance floor, so her cousin just grabbed her wrist, guiding her in toward the bar. When they reached the bar, Chelsie yelled something to the bartender, who gave Skye an odd look before sliding her a beer, still in the bottle. Skye tried to smile a thankyou at him, but within moments Chelsie was right next to her, yelling so she could be heard.

"Bobby is here, I'm gonna go dance. You gonna be OK here by yourself?" she asked.

Skye smirked. She wasn't some small town girl, she could handle herself. "I'll be fine," she shouted back before sliding up onto a barstool to watch people moving around. Her back rested against the bar, she held her still untouched beer in her hands as she watched people having fun, feeling severely out of place. Luckily, most of them seemed to be ignoring her.

OOC: I have found someone to fill the part of the main male character in this thread. Thank you to all who applied.

*His eyes had fallen upon her when she first walked in to the bar. He cocked his head to the side, grinning to himself as he tuned the black acoustic guitar. Who could miss a redhead dressed like that?

Rocky Donovan, lead singer for the band "Dark Horse" which was playing in that very bar that night, glanced around at his band mates behind him. At the moment, the sound guy, Dylan, was playing a CD as he waited for the band to finish setting up.

"Are you ready??" Rocky said as he plugged his guitar into the amp, strumming to get Dylan's attention.

Dylan turned down the CD and upped the master fader for the band.

"Check...is anybody out there??" Rocky's deep voice boomed through the front end speakers, his deep blue eyes sparkling underneath that beatup straw cowboy hat that also hid his head full of pitch black hair. His 6'5 frame was dressed in a red flannel shirt with the sleeves ripped off and the top 3 buttons undone, hinting at his muscular chest. He also had on faded jeans that clung to his ass, beat up cowboy boots on his feet. The jeans had a rip in one knee.

The crowd screamed in approval of the band FINALLY starting. After a couple minutes of bantering with the crowd, the band started to play. They started with their rendition of "I Love This Bar" by Toby Keith.

As he sang, Rocky couldn't help but keep his eyes on the redhead sitting at the bar. He'd never seen her in here before. Was she new in town? Hey, he had seen her come in with Chelsie...he'd have to ask her to introduce him to her during their first break.

Rocky's stage presence could be compared to any rock star. He had those gyrating hips, that rambunctiousness and craziness during the fast songs. During the slower ones, he would get down off the stage and dance with one of the girls standing off to the side. And he didn't just pick the pretty girls either. His goal during his shows were to make everyone feel welcomed!! Hell, he had even danced with a guy one time when he was really drunk on stage! It had been one of his best friends and they were just doing it for shits and giggles.

He kept thinking to himself as he sang, "Ok...next slow song, I'm going to go up to her and pull her out on the dance floor. Screw asking Chelsie to introduce us..." and that's exactly what he did. His microphone was one of the headset ones which gave him the ability to do the crazy things he did during his shows.

"OK...now here's one of ev'ryone's favorites...it was originally sung by John Micheal Montgomery...y'all know what song it is....'I Swear'." As he spoke, Rocky was heading straight towards Skye, his eyes on her. Once he got to her, he held out his hand to her, sweeping the other arm out towards the dance floor as he started to sing.

"I see the questions in your eyes
I know what's weighing on your mind
You can be sure I know my part
Cuz I stand beside you through the years
You'll only cry those happy tears
And though I'll make mistakes
I'll never break your heart..."

One of his hands at the small of her back, the other holding her hand on his shoulder, he stared into her eyes as he sang. He had that way of connecting with people.

When the singer of the band spoke into the mic to get the crowd's attention, Skye looked up just like everyone else. But the biggest difference between her and all them was that she'd never laid eyes on the young man who currently stood there, black accoustic strapped to his body. My god... she thought. He's beautiful...

Her eyes were rather locked on him through the bantering and the first song he sang, but after a while she managed to tear them away as she watched the crowd. She even remembered the beer in her hand and took a few long pulls of it. Her eyes danced over the crowd on the dancefloor, soon finding Chelsie and Bobby dancing to the music.

Her cousin was pretty, blonde curls short to her chin, the perfect ringlets bouncing around her round face. Light brown eyes had always danced with mischief, ever since they were little girls. She was taller than Skye by about three inches when they stood barefoot next to each other, and was also a bit more round than Skye.

A small laugh left the city girl as she watched Chelsie and Bobby dancing around each other, moving in perfect harmony. That was one thing she'd always thought was amazing about those who were really into country music. They learned all these dances and could move in synchronicity to the music without any real thought to it.

Throughout the following songs, Skye's eyes kept returning to the man onstage. Typically cowboy with that rugged feel so him, he was oddly intriguing. And she could swear he was watching her from his place up on the stage. Calling herself silly, she shook her head and finished her beer, sure there was no way he would have even noticed her all the way back there.

It would seem, however, that she was wrong. After one of the faster paced songs ended, she heard him announcing a song by some guy named John Michael Montgomery. She recognized the name of the song, but her mind related it to Boys to Men.

Before she realised what was going on, she was looking up as he stood infront of her, one hand held out toward her and the other motioning to the dance floor. Without thinking, she set down her mostly empty beer bottle and stood, hand sliding into his as he swept her onto the dance floor.

Her eyes were locked on him as they moved, and most of the girls around them were buisy both being jelouse of the pretty redhead in his arms and wondering at how she moved so easily in stilletto heels. And they weren't small heels, either. They added a good nearly five inches to her height. The men, meanwhile, were wondering how they'd managed to miss her walking through the door.

Chelsie was grinning from ear to ear, standing to the side with Bobby as most of the crowd parted and stood aside to let the odd couple in the middle of the dance floor move without fear of bumping into someone.

Skye, meanwhile, found herself pressed close to the tall cowboy, petite curvy body moving easily with his, not needing to be lead too much. His voice filled her ears and she smiled, mouthing the words along with him. Though she didn't quite know it the way he did, atleast she knew the song.

A soft smile curved her full lips, showing off straight pearly whites. Her eyes stayed locked on his and after a few moments, she'd forgotten about the rest of the bar, which had fallen somewhat quiet as they watched the couple dancing.

Rocky grinned at her as he broke into the chorus, never taking his eyes off her's.

"I swear
By the moon and stars in the sky
I'll be there
I swear
Like the shadow that's by your side
I'll be there
For better or worse
Till death do us part
I'll love you with every beat of my heart
I swear"

He twirled her around the dance floor, feeling the eyes of everyone on the bar on both of them. He'd glance up every now and then just to make sure that they didn't run into anyone. During one of the instrumental breaks of the song, he pushed the mic up so no one could hear what he said.

"Name's Rocky....you here with Chels?" He let the hand at the small of her back drift down a little but not intentionally. But before she got to answer him, he had to start singing again, pulling the mic back down.

Rocky swung her around the dance floor a couple of more times..during the duration of the song and let her go just as the song ended in front of Chelsie and Bobby. He smiled at her, winking a bit, pushing the mic back up and kissing the back of her hand before totally letting her go.

"Ah really hope ya stay around for the whole set. Ah'm sure Chels an' Bobby ain't gonna let ya leave..." He grinned to Chelsie and Bobby before looking back to Skye. "Never did catch your name..."

He waited for her to respond as the band started up another song, Rocky waving his hand to them...a wave that basically said "Keep playing the intro until I'm ready to come back up there". The into they were playing was 'HonkyTonk Ba-Donkadonk' by Trace Adkins. His blue eyes shined at her as he pulled the mic down...talking the intro of the song.

"Turn it up some.
All right boys, this is her favorite song, you know that, right?
So, if we play it good and loud, she might get up and dance again.
Ooh, she put her beer down: here she comes, here she comes.
Left, left, left, right, left: whoo."

Rocky backed out onto the dance floor, his eyes never leaving Skye's as he started singing again. He wiggled the hips of his huge frame a little as he winked at Skye again before turning and heading back towards the stage, singing as he went. A couple of the girls on the floor tried to dirty dance with him a bit before he got there. He'd stop...let them go at it for a few seconds before moving on again. But he kept looking back to where he left Skye as he moved.

"Husslers shootin' eight-ball,
Throwin' darts at the wall,
Feelin' damn near ten feet tall.
Here she comes, Lord help us all.
Ol' T.W.'s girlfriend done slapped him out his chair,
Poor ol' boy, it ain't his fault: it's so hard not to stare.

At that honky tonk badonkadonk,
Keepin' perfect rhythm: make you wanna swing along.
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong,
And ooh ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma,
There outta be a law; get the Sheriff on the phone.
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on.
That honky tonk badonkadonk.
(Aw sorry.) "

The girls that had tried to dirty dance with him grabbed their boyfriends and huffed a little because Rocky didn't dance with them. All the girls on the dance floor were trying to dance like the girls in Trace's video, the ones who weren't attached were trying to get Rocky's attention. But it wasn't working because Rocky still had his eyes on Skye.

"Now, honey, you can't blame her,
For what her Mama gave her.
It ain't right to hate her,
For workin' that money-maker.
Band shuts down at two but we're hangin' out till three:
We hate to see her go but love to watch her leave.

With that honky tonk badonkadonk,
Now, keepin' perfect rhythm: make you wanna swing along.
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong,
And ooh ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma,
There outta be a law; get the Sheriff on the phone.
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on.
With that honky tonk badonkadonk.
(Oh, that's what I'm talkin' bout right there, honey.)"

Back up on the stage now, Rocky was back to doing his "stage aerobics" by dancing all over and grinding a little with the female back up singer. You coudl tell they were related though...Rocky and Ashely had the same dark hair, but Ashely's eyes were a deep green.

"We don't care 'bout the drinkin', barely listen to the band.
Our hands, they start a shakin' when she gets the urge to dance.
Drivin' everybody crazy: you think you fell in love.
Boys, you better keep your distance: you can look but you can't touch.

With that honky tonk badonkadonk,
Now, keepin' perfect rhythm: make you wanna swing along.
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong,
And ooh ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma,
There outta be a law; get the Sheriff on the phone.
Lord, have mercy, how's she even get them britches on.
That honky tonk badonkadonk.

That honky tonk badonkadonk
Yeah, that honky tonk badonkadonk.

(That's it, right there boys, that's why we do what we do.)"

The song ended...Rocky grinning as the crowd went wild. His eyes moved right back to Skye though.

"Ah want y'all ta meet mah cousin...Ashely. She's our new backup...an' boys...she's single!!" Rocky was met with a slap on his bicep from Ashely and a look that could kill. Rocky just laughed, the intro to the next song playing. "We got one more for y'all b'fore we take a short lil' break...Ah think Ah'm gonna let Ashe sing one for ya...." The band started to play 'Here For The Party' and Ashely belted out the tune as Rocky was playing the guitar, jamming with her, every once and a while looking in the direction of Skye, grinning at her.

Skye moved along with him, singing softly under her breath so the mic wouldn't pick her up. It wasn't that she couldn't sing. Quite the contrary, she was majoring in music and her specialization centered in the field was vocals. The truth was, though, some part of her had been overcome by a mild case of stage fright. She was afraid she'd sing the song the wrong way and he'd notice and think her stupid for it.

When the song ended, she was breathless and her skin was flushed in the most attractive of ways. Smiling back at him, the smile was shy but nonetheless beautiful. Her eyes never left him, and even though she opened her mouth to answer, she was unable to summon the words.

So, Chelsie did it for her. "Skye... her name is Skye!" Slightly stunned by her cousin announcing it loud enough for no doubt the entire bar to hear, Skye backed up a step, grinning slightly. She bumped right into Chelsie, who laughed and looped an arm around her waist to keep her from backing up any further.

She noticed that many of the girls were trying to dance with Rocky, but was surprised to see him blow them off. it was a relief somehow and that realisation brought to light in the forefront of Skye's mind that part of her would likely become rather jelouse if he did stop to pay a lot of attention to another girl.

It would seem, though, as he moved back to the stage that he had eyes only for her. And she only for him.

As her thoughts lingered on this fact, she felt two hands at the small of her back...

Bobby and Chelsie gave her a gentle shove back onto the dance floor, and in short order Chelsie was dragging her out into the middle of it, dancing to the song Rocky sang.

Not wanting to look like an idiot, Skye played along, following the movements Chelsie made. It wasn't long before she had learned nearly the entire dance from the video and was moving through it with what probably looked like practiced ease.

Her body was lithe, catlike as she moved. She and Chelsie seemed to be the only ones on the dancefloor doing the song any justice, but still the other girls struggled along.

Meanwhile, though, Skye was still readily glancing up at Rocky, wondering if he was watching.

When the song was over, she clapped, laughing in a breathless manner. Only to pause, hearing him talk into his mic. So the girl was his cousin... She grinned at his comment on her being single and soon Ashley was singing. She'd heard the song more than once on Chelsie's CD player, so she was familiar enough with it. And when it started, she and Chelsie were dancing yet again.

Rocky listened to her as she sang along with him. Even though it wasn't picking up over the mic, he grinned, nodding his head to her. She's gotta damn good voice...should pull her up on stage an' have her sing one wit' me! He thought to himself.

After the song was over, Rocky smiled to Chelsie as she blurted out Skye's name. "It's nice ta meet ya, Skye." He looked back to Chelsie and Bobby. "Ya ain't gonna let her leave, right??"

Seeing the flush on her pale skin, he chuckled softly. He leaned in, whispering to her "If ah can get ya blushin' after jus' one dance..." He leaned back, wiggling his eyebrows at her "Imagine after a whole night a' singin' an' dancin' wit' ya."

As he made his way back to the stage, Rocky saw Chels and Bobby push Skye out on the dance floor, yet another grin coming to his face. While he was singing the Trace Adkins song, he jumped off the stage, sauntering his way over to where Chelsie and Skye were dancing. He worked his body between the two of them, leaning back against Chelsie and pulling Skye in front of him, dancing with them. His hand was at Skye's hip and he reached back and put Chelsie's hand on his hip, his body grinding against Skye's from behind. As the song ended, he leaned in and kissed both of them on the cheek, jumping back up on stage to pick on his cousin.

As Ashely sang, Rocky's eyes kept going back to where Skye and Chelsie were dancing. He slid down off the stage, still playing his guitar and walked up by them. He walked around them then stopped, putting his back up to Skye's as he wiggled his hips a little against her to the beat of the song. He stayed down with the girls until Ashe had finished singing, pulling his mic back down to his lips. "Hope y'all stick around...we'll be back with 'nother set of yer favorite songs...an we do take requests!! Jus' write what ya wanna hear on that lil' sheet a' paper in front of mah guitar stand!"

He flipped his guitar to his back by sliding the strap so the guitar was upside down on his backside. He pushed his cowboy hat back a little, looking down to Skye and Chelsie, looking more at Skye though. "Ah'm glad to have met ya, Skye. You related to Chels? You poor girl!!" He laughed, poking at Chelsie playfully. "Ah'm jus' playin', Chels! You know that! Can ah buy y'all a beer?? Shot? Mixed drink?? Anythin'?"

Rocky let his eyes wander over Skye's form, licking gently over his lower lip. He slid the guitar off, running up to the stage to put it on it's stand and came running back to the girls. "Where'd Bobby go?? Ah'll buy him one, too. Ah guess..." He flashed that heart pounding grin again.

Skye got into the music. Far more than any other time that she could remember. Dancing wise, atleast. Her body caught the rythm and she swayed to it, hips moving along, letting her bottom rub against him in the most provocative of ways. She wasn't shy about how she was dancing, infact she probably seemed more into it than most.

When he pulled away and went back on stage, she laughed and her and Chelsie stood there, watching him, only to be rejoined by him out on the dancefloor. She couldn't get enough. Of him, of the music, of the sheer amount of fun she was having.

At the back of her mind, she wondered how on earth she ever put up with those r&b/rap dance clubs. None of them were nearly as fun as this place. And besides... none of them came with a live band with such a cute lead singer!

When the songs were over and the band went on break, Skye and Chelsie walked back toward the bar, finding themselves soon joined by Rocky. She turned and flashed him a dazzling smile as he offered to buy them a drink. "Bourbon, straight, no chaser," she said more to the bartender than to Rocky, but she made it loud enough for him to hear.

She wasn't sure where Bobby was, but it was at that opportune moment that Chelsie excused herself and slipped off into the crowd to search for her suddenly missing boyfriend, leaving Skye and Rocky alone.

Rocky fought with his body not to react to Skye's dancing and the rubbing up against him. After all, he was the one who started it! If any other girl had done that, nothing would have happened. But it was Skye. Not just any other groupie!

Rocky raised a brow, but grinned at her drink choice. Yeah...he heard her loud and clear! "Bourbon...pretty strong drink choice."

He watched as Chelsie took off, his full attention to Skye. Pulling out a stool for her, he sat down on the bar stool across from her as he waited for her bourbon and his beer.

"Yer a natural at dancin'....can't say there's been anyone that's caught mah eye like this before." In the back of his mind, he said to himself Or that's made mah body react like this jus' from a dance .

"Eva...ummm...." He quit talking for a second, grinning and looking down at the ground, then back up to her, his blue eyes staring intently at her. "Ah'm sorry....nevah lost mah train of thought b'fore. Must be cuz of such a gorgeous woman as y'self." He flashed that grin at her.

He thought for a second as he watched her. Their drinks arrived and he took a long pull of his beer before his eyes widened. He set the beer down. "Now ah remember....where ya from? Obviously..." He let his eyes wander over her before meeting her eyes again, a shy grin playing on his lips. "...Ya ain't from around here. An' mah band plays in the surroundin' towns an' Ah ain't seen ya at any of them bars. Judgin' by the clothes...ah say a big city." He licked over his lower lip, grinning again.

Skye just grinned at the comment he made on her drink choice. She'd never been a light drinker, as beer wasn't generally her first choice. Granted, it did take an awful lot for her to even get a buzz going, so harder drink choices weren't out of the question for her the way they were for some. She slid up onto the barstool he pulled out for her, flashing him a smile smile before crossing one long shapely leg over the other.

When he commented on her dancing, she chuckled some. "I've been dancing since I was a little girl," she said, shrugging as if it were no big deal. Of course... if you ever spoke to Skye's mother, she would insist that once upon a time, Skye had a future in dancing, but that she'd given it up for the pursuit of music performance instead. Granted... little did her mother know that Skye used some of the money from her job back in the city to pay for further use of dance studios and the occasional class, just to keep herself in shape. She'd never forgotten the way it felt to dance to the music, to let herself become an instrument of it instead of the other way around.

She only smiled as his train of throught derailed, waiting patiently for him to ask his questions. Then he asked where she as from. "I'm not from anywhere near here, actually. Just here on vacation visiting family. I live in New York City." She flashed him yet another dazzling smile, and couldn't help but think how utterly adorable his slight stammer and thick southern drawl were.

Rocky had to tear his eyes away after watching her cross her legs, biting on his lower lip. Never had there been a girl that could get his juices flowing like Skye was and had been all night, even if she didn't know it. And he had his choice of women being the lead singer of a well known band in these parts!!

He looked back to her when she spoke, smiling. He pulled a pack of Marb Lights out of the pocket of his shirt, lighting it and being careful not to let the smoke go in her direction. Yeah, it was a bad habit of his. But he was a conscious smoker. He never smoked in his parents house and still doesn't smoke in his own house, preferring to be outdoors. "Jus' lemme know if the smoke is botherin' ya...Ah'll put it out."

"New York City..." He smiled. "Ah ain't nevah been there. Furthest north ah been is like Virginia to mah uncle's there. Been ta Nashville a lot. Some record guy wanted ta sign me ta his label...but ah wasn't goin' no where without mah band wit' me. What's it like in tha' city? Gotta be a helluva lot betta' than bein' down here...much as ah love it here."

Rocky let his eyes wander over her again. A big city girl and a country boy? Could it work? He grinned as he thought this in his head, pushing the cowboy hat back on his head a bit, letting the tip of his tongue wet his lower lip again.

Skye shrugged some as he spoke of the city being better than the country. "There's certainly more to do there... but the people here are much more friendly." She gave a quick look around. "Most of the time, anyway.... You can be in the city, surrounded by a mass of people, and still be completely alone."

There was an almost a shadow of sadness in her eyes at that comment, but with a blink, it was gone. It may never have been there at all, infact. She gave him another smile. "So what about you? Were you born here or did your parents move you here?"

Even as she spoke of her home, her mind was wandering much in the same direction his was. She hadn't been able to take her eyes off him most of the evening, and now she found herself wondering if something could work between two people who seem so... opposite. She'd heard that opposites attract, but in the back of her mind, she admitted this seemed a little rediculous!

He had caught that look in her eyes before it had left and he glanced away, exhaling smoke through his nose before looking back to her. "It all depends on who ya know an' who's ass ya kiss around here."

Rocky smiled when she did, glancing to the bar to crush out his smoke and putting his full attention back on her. "Guess ah was one of the lucky ones...born an' bred here. M'dad owns th'biggest horse farm here...he's looked up ta by ev'ry one in town. M'mom is one of th'high school teachers...an' ev'ry one loves her. Ah have an older sister an' a older brother. Both of 'em moved outta here soon as they turned 18. Ah stayed...helpin' m'dad with the horses an' doin' the musician thang. Had a whole lotta lables comin' down...lookin' ta sign me. But ah ain't found th'right one yet. Dad built me a house on part of th'farm....far enough away so ah have privacy from him an' mah mom...but close enough in case anythan' happens where they need me."

Taking another pull from his beer, those blue eyes on her as he drank, he raised a brow, speaking as he set the beer down and sliding off his stool, standing closer to her. "What 'bout you?? How long ya here for?? How long do ah got b'fore ya leave an' break mah heart?" He chuckled softly, that deep voice of his. "An' do ah have a chance ta have dinner wit' ya b'fore ya leave??"

She had a pleasant smile on her lips as he told her about her family and found herself imagining what it would be like to be part of a family like that. Her father had divorced her mother when she was less than a year old and moved to europe to marry a woman Skye had never met. Her mother, on the other hand, was quite successfull enough to be able to support herself and her newborn daughter, and never saw fit to remarry. Atleast not until Skye was in her teens.

"I'm here for two weeks before I have to get back to the city..." she said with a soft smile. "And I'd love to have dinner with you," she added. She'd avoided saying anything about his family, she'd never been one to bring her own up very much thanks to the lack of it. In the back of her mind, she noted his comment on breaking his heart and couldn't help but blush.

It had been a long time since she'd been out with a guy, and never one with so much natural charm. She wondered if he even realised what that twinkle in his eye, that smile on his handsome face, could do to a girl. "You've got real talent, Rocky, and I'm sure the labels will keep turning up with offers till you find the one thats right for you."

"Ah can only hope...be mah one way outta this town. Mah brother joined the service...sister married an' moved ta Dallas. Ah love it here...but jus' felt ah was destined for more than playin' lil' bars an' honkytonks. Ah almost signed that first contract...but the guys in the band...ah've been playin' with since we were kids an' ah know ah can't leave 'em behind. Why ah kept sayin' no to the past ones...cuz they only wanted me an' ah ain't goin' no where wit'out them." Rocky grinned at her, playin' with the beer bottle.

His grin widened when he heard her say yes to his dinner offering. "When ya free?? How 'bout tomorrow night?? Ah'll pick ya up at yer aunt's....say at like 7:30 pm?"

He glanced up as the guys started gathering on stage again, looking back to her. "Ya ain't gonna leave me tonite, are ya??

She slid off her own barstool, standing rather close to him now, but she didn't mind if he didn't. When he asked when she was free, she was quick to agree that the next night was perfect. She glanced up at the stage at the same time he did and her smile was almost sad when she looked back up at him. It was a shame he had to go back up there... but at the same time it wasn't.

She certainly wasn't going to complain about watching him up there singing and dancing again. She shook her head at his question. "I wouldn't dream of it. I plan to be out there dancing to every song provided I dont get pushed off the dance floor for my horrid dancing."

Her laugh was soft, and she stood on tip toe without thinking about it, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. "You better go, dont want the crowd getting restless," she said into his ear, voice soft but still loud enough to be understood.

He didn't move when she stood up, mere inches from her now. He took a deep breath as he looked down at her, licking over his lower lip again.

"If ya come up on stage..." He grinned. "Guarenteed ya won't get booted from the dance floor. An' in mah eyes...yer one of the best dancers on that floor..." The only one's that gettin' mah blood boilin'... he thought to himself as he pulled back after she kissed him on the cheek.

Rocky sauntered up to the stage slowly, grabbing up his guitar after hooking his headset mic back up, glancing back over to where Skye was, smiling at her as his voice boomed out through the speakers.

"OK...we're back fer round 2...an' it's gonna be a long one!! We gonna start off with a lil' Kenny...."

He looked back to the guys as they all started off the beginning of 'Summertime' and Rocky turned around to face the crowd as he began singing, looking again to where Skye was before looking back out over the crowd again.

"Summertime is finally here
That old ball park man is back in gear
Out on 49, man I can see the lights
School's out and the night's roll in
Man, just like a long lost friend
You ain't seen in a while
You can't help but smile

And it's two bare feet on the dashboard
Young love in an old Ford
Cheap shades and a tattoo and a Yoohoo bottle on the floorboard
Perfect song on the radio, sing along cause it's one we know
It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine
It's summertime, sweet summertime"

She watched him walk back up to the stage, waiting for him to be back up there and hooking up his guitar and headset before she moved onto the dance floor. She cheered and clapped along with the crowd even as he announced the band being back up and ready to go around again.

She didn't know the song, but she liked the beat, and soon found herself dancing along with everyone else. She made sure to stay close enough to the stage for him to see her, though, and was usually on the front fringe of the crowd to give the couples room to move. Besides... right here, she could see Rocky clearly and knew he could look down and see her.

Her eyes stayed mostly on him as she danced along, and laughed at the way he sang the word "yoohoo" She couldn't help it, she found it adorible. Her hips moved to the rythm of the song as she danced, and she couldn't resist the temptation to tease him just a little bit. Turning her back to the stage at a moment when she knew he was looking down at her, she emphasized her hips' movement just a bit more than usuall, just enough to get his real attention, and was grinning from ear to ear when she turned back around.

As he sang, Rocky loved to look over the crowd...to see their reactions to his music. He loved to please them all.

"Temperature says 93 down at the Deposit and Guarantee
But that swimming hole, it's nice and cold
Bikini bottoms underneath, but the boy's hearts still skip a beat
When them girls shimmy off them old cut-offs

And it's two bare feet on the dashboard
Young love in an old Ford
Cheap shades and a tattoo and a Yoohoo bottle on the floorboard
Perfect song on the radio, sing along cause it's one we know
It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine
It's summertime, sweet summertime"

Rocky looked down at the right time, seeing Skye tease him a bit. He almost fumbled over his words as he started singing again, his eyes wide as he watched her, a grin playing on his lips.

"The..the..The more things change, the more they stay the same
Don't matter how old you are
Man, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout,
Yeah baby, when you got....

Two bare feet on the dashboard
Young love in an old Ford
Cheap shades and a tattoo and a Yoohoo bottle rollin' on the floorboard
Perfect song on the radio, sing along cause it's one we know
It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine
It's summertime, sweet summertime"

He finished up the song, looking back down to Skye and winking. He laughed as he bantered on the mic. "Gotta love the girls...ya know what ah mean?? They jus' know...how ta work their bodies! An' ah think they love tryin' ta distract me!"

"Now we gonna do somethin' a lil' bit slower....this is when ah usually find a girl ta dance with...but...ah think ah'm jus' gonna sit here on the edge of the stage an' play...a cappella. Well...jus' me an' mah guitar..wit' maybe a lil' bit of drums...if Mikey's up for it..." Rocky glanced back, laughing at the drummer before quieting down and starting the song.

"
Come a little closer baby
I feel like layin you down
On a bed of sweet surrender
Where we can work it all out
There ain't nothin that love can't fix
Girl it's right here at our finger tips
So come a little closer baby
I feel like layin you down

Come a little closer baby
I feel like lettin go
Of everything that stand between us
And the love we used to know
I wanna touch you like a crimson robe
And let it wash all youu hurt away
So come a little closer baby
I feel like lettin go"

Skye laughed and applauded with the rest of the crowd when the song ended, looking up at Rocky with a bright smile on her lips. She returned his wink when he made the gesture, chuckling at his banter. When he said he was going to sing something slower, with just him and his guitar, she moved away from those who were dancing and stood off to the side, out of the way of the dancers but still where they would be able to see each other with ease.

His voice was warm, deep, and she felt some inner part of her melt at the sound of it. And the lyrics didn't help any. Her pulse quickened some, blood running hot beneath her skin as her mind was filled with images and impromptu fantasies. And he was part of every single one.

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, eyes opening again and locking onto him. Her left hand was braced on the wall next to her, while her other was resting over her stomach, feeling the warm, almost tingling sensation building there as he continued to sing. In the back of her mind, she wondered if it was him or the alchohol affecting her so.

Oh god... I swear if he looked over here... I'm lost... she thought, watching him and at once wishing he'd look at her and at the same time glad he wasn't.

"If there's still a chance than take my hand
And we'll steal away
Off into the night
Until we make things right
The sun's gonna rise, on a better day"

Rocky looked up from his guitar, looking Skye's way, an impish grin on his face and that twinkle in his eyes again. Deep down inside, he could tell what he was doing to her as he watched her take that deep breath and brace herself against the wall. He was sooo tempted to stand and walk over there by her. But he'd have time to tease her again...he grinned at both her and himself and looked back down to the guitar.

"Come a little closer baby
I feel like strippin it down
Back to the basics of you and me
And what makes the world go round
Every inch of you accross my skin
I wanna be stronger than we've ever been
So come a little closer baby
I feel like strippin it down"

He stood up as he finished singing the song, looking back to her as he sang the last little verse.

"Come a little closer baby
Just a little bit closer baby
Come a little closer baby
I feel like layin you down"

Grabbing his beer from by his guitar stand, he took a long pull off of it and looked back out over the crowd as he shook his upper body a bit. "Song gets ta me...." He laughed. "Someone yell outta song ya want us ta play for ya.....ah can't think right now!"

Chelsie, meanwhile, had seen the reaction in her cousin as well. Atleast, she knew Rocky was having fun teasing Skye. And so, like any good friend would do, she whispered into Bobby's ear before running over to grab her cousin's hand. Bobby only grinned at his girlfriend and took a deep breath before yelling above the din of the crowd. "Play Somethin Country, boy!"

The crowd cheered their agreement, and Chelsie laughed even as she grabbed a rather surprised Skye's hand and pulled her toward the stage. Skye was forced to grip her cousins hand and fight to keep up until finally she realised where they were headed. She tried to stop, but Chelsie wasn't having it. "Just trus' me!" she yelled to her even as she shoved her up onto stage before following after.

Skye found herself standing near Rocky as the band began to play. She took that as her cue, hips immediately moving to the music. She was lucky, this was one of the songs Chelsie listened to all the time, so Skye knew it almost by heart.

Sauntering up to Rocky, her hips moved to the music. As he began to sing, she put a little more "attitude" into her step, arm raising up. One hand went to her hip, the other pointing at him, soon turning to crook her finger and make a "come hither" gesture.

Yes, she blew through the door like TNT,
Put her hand on her hip, pointed a finger at me.
Said: "I'm a whiskey drinkin', cowboy chasin', helluva time.
"I like Kenny, Keith, Allan and Patsy Cline.
"I'm a full grown Queen Bee lookin' for honey.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, aw, play somethin' country."

When he sang the line about a Queen Bee, she waisted no time, her hand reaching up. With a toss of her head and a gesture that seemed almost perfect, her hair came out of it's ponytail, cascades of perfect curls falling past her waist. She moved her lips along with his words as he said "Ha-ooh-hoo, aw, play somethin' country.", her hand reaching up and snagging the cowboy hat right off his head before she set atop her own.

The crowd was cheering their approval of her performance, and she was living it up.

"Who's callin' me boy??" Rocky looked out over the crowd, seeing Chelsie and Skye comin' up to the stage. He grinned as he helped them both up on the stage. " Ah'ma kick yer ass, Bobby...." He laughed as they started the song.

His eyes were glued on Skye as he sang, watching her gestures, licking over his lower lip, one eyebrow raised. He slowly moved over towards her as she "commanded" him to and just stood there almost in shock as she grabbed his cowboy hat off his head and put it on her own. He stopped playing his own guitar and rested his hands on the top of it, watching her and Chels. He was still singing though...running his hands back through his mess of pitch black hair. And it was a mess...why do you think he wears the hat?

"Yeah, the band took a break,
The DJ played P Diddy.
She said: "I didn't come here to hear,
"Somethin' thumpin' from the city."
Said: "I, I shaved my legs, I paid my money.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, play somethin' country.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, aw, play somethin' country."

Crank up the band, play the steel guitar.
Hank it up a little, let's rock this bar.
Threw back a shot; yelled: "I'm a George Strait junkie.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, play somethin' country.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, aw, play somethin' country."

Rocky couldn't keep his eyes off of Skye, seeming to push his guitar down a bit more on his body. The girl was driving him insane!!

Her body moved to the music perfectly, hips emulating the beat while her feet carried her easily over the stage. She grinned as he just laid his hands atop the guitar, knowing she had him. She moved closer to him and when the line about shaving her legs came up, she had one foot on either side of his left one. On the long note for "legs", she bent at the knee, lowering herself till she nearly hit the stage with her ass, only to stand straight back up, running the hand closest to the crowd up along her leg to her thigh. Her other hand, meanwhile, unseen by the crowd, ran nails lightly up the back of Rocky's leg.

Yeah, the bartender yelled:"Y'all, it's closin' time."
She got this wild look on her face,
An' said: "Your truck or mine,
"I know a place down the road,
"It's kinda funky.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, all out in the country.
"Ha-ooh-hoo, now, play somethin' country."

She was dancing right up next to him, making sure to emulate every part of the song, but in the most teasing way possible. The men in the crowd were living it up, hootin and hollerin, and the girls were doin there best to have as much sex appeal as the fiery redhead up on stage.

Skye, however, had eyes only for Rocky. Chelsie meanwhile, had slid back off the stage and was dancing with Bobby, laughing at her cousin. It was nice to see the other woman loosen up a bit.

Rocky about lost it when she came back up, his eyes wide as he felt her nails drag up the back of his leg. He stumbled over some of the lyrics.

"Y...Y...Ye..Yeah, the bartender yelled:"Y'all, it's closin' time."
She got this wild look on her face,
An' said: "Your truck or mine,

"Ah-ooh-hoo, play somethin' country.

Rocky slid his guitar up over his head, setting it down on his stand, pulling Skye up against him as she danced. Those deep blue eyes of his bore down into her's as he sang, moving his hips with her and very glad that his jeans were tight enough to hide what Skye was causing to happen down there. As he moved his hips against her's...he was pretty sure she could feel what she was doing to him.

"Crank up the band, play the steel guitar.
Hank it up a little, let's rock this bar.
Threw back a shot; yelled: "I'm a George Strait junkie.

She let him draw her close, her hips still moving to the beat. She'd heard him stumble over the words to the song after she'd teased him by trailing her nails over the back of his leg, and she was glad to know she was having as much of an effect on him as his song earlier had had on her.

When she was pressed close to him, she could feel the effect she was having on him first hand, and gave him a knowing grin, though her eyes were cloudy with her own desire. Her hands moved to rest on his upper arms, fingers spreading out over the bulge of his upper arm's muscles. She let her nails tease the skin there a bit, unable to resist the urge to tease him just a bit more while she was close enough to feel the fruits of her labor resting against her belly.

The same mischevious grin was on her lips as they danced, and she giggled under her breath, deciding to tease him just one more time before the song was over. Her hand found his and she made sure his arm was firmly against the small of her back. Soon, she was moving her uper body some to the music as she bent backward at the waist, soon doing nearly a full backbend, one hand resting on his muscular chest while the other held the cowboy hat on her head.

The majority of the crowd wouldn't get to see it as clearly as many of the would have wanted to, but he would get a lovely view of the pale skin of her stomach as her haltertop inched up some, exposing her flat belly.
