I'm in the market for a collar three or four inches tall.

My first question would be if anyone has any links to ones they've purchased and like.

The second one was me thinking about it, and wondering if there's a difference between a taller collar and a posture collar? I know a store near me sells an intriguing posture collar, but it never really catches my eye because it molds around the shoulders and makes it look sorta funky (well, honestly, the mercury ran an ad for the collar this week, and on a person, it looks HOT... but on the shelf, not so much.)

the one I was looking at is here : Spartacus' Posture Collar

Good thing her name isn't Ethel just wouldn't sound as good huh.....smiles.

Extremerestraints has a good reputation with people I have spoken to though I have never had any direct contact with the Company. In fact I have never bought anything of this nature online . I like to touch things , see how well made they are plus the experience of the purchase is a little weary when its bling order bling in some ways. Takes away some of the 'fun' for me. If your somewhere remote though I bet its a Godsend.

Good Luck with it all I would love to hear how it all goes Chicklet.

Kind regards

Mr.S has several - home page Enter , you will find them Collars here

They are great people and made very good products. They market to the gay male community, but are fem friendly and growing that direction.

Just some feedback - I went and bought the posture collar from Spartacus and it's spectacular - for $30 it's not a bad deal.

I have a warning though - I usually go in and just purchase these things. ONCE, when I was shy, I ordered something online, and well, it wasn't super fast shipping and the incorrect item came. I don't know if my experience was unusual, but I do have to let you know it happened.

the collar, though, is fantastic.

Do we get to see pictures?

The Sparatacus linked one didn't look as high as I thought you well seeking.

I think I'm still in the market for a taller one, but again, for thirty bucks, getting a toy NOW was sort of pleasing ^^

okay just for you boz, here're some pics. I'm extremely swollen (dentist monday) you can see the bruise on my cheek from all the shots I got. ugh. or i could tell people the boy smacked me in the face, if i wanted to freak them out ;)

well done - and thanks for the pics....

Just as an addition to this thread. I was looking at some sites and i noticed one that had an adjustable height collar for about $25. It is plastic and just a stiff neck extrication collar used to immobilize people with suspected spinal injuries.
You can get them cheaper at medical suppy houses if you want them. :p

yeah I've seen those before, but, well, they're just not as attractive as a nice black leather collar ;) my preferences go towards leather.

It really is attractive and getting it NOW, as you say, is really GOOD. I can always get custom stuff but it really takes time. It's nice to go from "I want" to "I have."

Again. You really look super in that collar. :rose: ENJOY!!!

My primary collar was a posture collar - I think we got it at Purple Passion/DV8 in NYC. I actually would have liked a smaller collar that I could have worn out more often. The collar from my wife is this one in black; not a posture collar but I can wear it for hours and sleep in it.

One caution about posture collars - make sure you can wear it comfortably both sitting up and lying down. The human neck changes shape between positions, so it's important to be comfortable with both.

Have you ever googled "neck corset"
That might be the one you didn't like, with the shoulder molding... i have to say though i'm slightly preferential to those... :)

sounds interesting - off to see

I have two - one is 3 inches tall and is from Stormy Leather. That collar is pretty much the same height all the way around. The other is 4 inches tall in front and has a countoured shape that ends up being a little lower in back. It's from Stockroom (ringless version).

I don't know if there is a precise distinction/definition for tall collar vs. posture collar. My opinion - whether or not it's a posture collar depends on the collar and the length of the wearer's neck. Whatever the height, a true posture collar should enforce a slight chin up pose, and give the wearer a little bit of restriction and reduced freedom of movement. Some people need 5 inches in front, some only 3. I don't like the big, bulky, or odd-style posture collars, either. Clean, simple styles look best to me.

I like both of mine, but the 4 inch collar is more of a favorite. It's more strict because of the height but still comfortable thanks to the countoured shape (necks aren't really perfect cylinders). It really makes me conscious of my posture. Definitely no slouching allowed. It gives me more of the "proper" feeling, you know, dressed up, regal, and elegant with my chin up and head held high. I like the restraint aspects of it but I also like the fashion aspect too. Makes me dream about the old days when it was in style for people to dress in restrictive collars, corsets, heels, etc. all day long.

I've been looking at the posture collars from Temptatia. Anyone know about theirs? They seem to have many styles and different options for height and stiffness. If I had one wish, it would be to find a posture collar that's about 2-2.5 inches in back so it's a little easier when you need to arch your head back a tad more.

Excuse my boldness, but the black is sexy yet doesn't detract for the natural beauty of your red hair and stunning blue eyes.
