Free Speech can hurt
The thread about the Pope has given me some ideas about an essay on Free Speech.
How can we have a reasoned argument without causing offence? If the topic is religious faith and belief it is very difficult.
I do not want to plaigarise other people's ideas for this contest. I'll just ask a question you can answer in an entry for the competition:
How can we discuss and debate without upsetting our opponent?

Reason can only cause offence to those of small mind and little wit. Alas, they are legion.
But truly - an opponent who is upset by a discussion and a debate is no opponent, rather they are a pustulent ulcer that should be denied several rights, voting and free speech among them.

This IS Literotica. Reviews and Essays can be erotic if you want them to be. Poring over Masters and Johnson was about all one could get in the 1950s unless you read Margaret Mead's anthropology or looked at bare-breasted maidens in the National Geographic.
An essay on which States would be likely to ban an anal story and why could be valid. A review of a banned book could also be valid. Including quotations to illustrate your points could be erotic.

That date is celebrated in Europe as Bastille Day - the beginning of the French Revolution and has been since 1789.
Nude Day is US only. In Canada and New Orleans Bastille Day is probably more important.
In last year's Nude Day Contest I made two US Citizens appear nude in France on Bastille Day.

Bowing, as always Og, at the fount of all knowledge, didn't National Nude Day start in New Zealand down on South Island. I thought some ex-rugby international down in Dunedin or someplace started running it to get good publicity for his sports bar.

A couple of years back there was a National Nude Day (beach) rugby match on South Island between New Zealand and Ireland. The kiwis took to the sand naked but the Irish hadn't fully grasped the point and turned up in kit. The pictures are hilarious.
