ya know no one is gonna wanna post anything about their religious beliefs here because its not bdsm correct on this forum to practice your religion and be who/what you are and actually be at peace with it.

I'm pretty much atheist. I can't help thinking that religion was simply brought about for someone or some people to control the masses by using fear of divine retribution of some sort to keep people in line, or to get them to conform to their own beliefs and thinking.

It also perhaps provides a nice, rosey theory as to what happens to us when we die, we as a species I don't think can come to terms with it's own mortality, and that when we die that's it, game over!

Sorry for my cynicism there, I see religion as being behind a lot of evil and misunderstanding in the world, but at the same time there is a small part of me that wished that it could believe in a higher power, that there was some sort of God that would watch over us and answer prayers, but I see absolutely no evidence of this. I would have though if there was a God that was coming back when mankind was in serious trouble, (s)he'd be here by now, or a long time beforehand!
 
I'm strange. I made up my own religion where you reincarnate repeatedly and each time you do so you become a slightly better person until you're perfect and then you get to go to heaven. Actually, I didn't make it up. It's based on Hinduism and my Latin American Lit teacher explained it to us in high school and I decided that it sounds about right.

I voted spiritual but not religious. I was brought up methodist and if I had to pick a religion I'd say Christianity. However I'm pretty cynical about "The Church." I also go through phases where I'm fairly agnostic.
 
I clicked Agnostic/Athiest but I should have clicked other.

I'm a spiritual person, not a religious person. I'm not a fan of organized religion or being mono or polytheistic... there are just too many inconsistacies.

I'm not a black/white person because I understand the need for faith and community, after life and morals...

I don't know what to officially call myself, but I don't follow a religion one could list so... yea... me in a nut shell.


edit to add: I was raised Roman Catholic, even went to a coed private catholic high school - uniforms, prayer, extra long christmas break and all...

i don't know that i'm strange, or even that i am not. And, i've always held a belief in this being possible.

Born and raised with no religion, then baptised a Catholic in my late teens by my own choice.

As an adult, on many occasions, for many reasons, i find that the catholic religion contradicts itslelf in what it preaches. i picked 'other'. i'm just not down with organized religion. i practice & worship in my own ways, privately.

another one here shy slave...although I just put pagan because I don't think my beleifs have a name...its a mixture of alot of things, but mostly earth based. Confusing myself now :D

Actually Buddhism is a bit out of place in the survey as it is not a religion, but more a philosophy.

I'm pretty certain we go on after we die, but I've not seen evidence of a god yet. I don't consider this belief spiritual at all, so I marked other. Was heavily indoctrinated in Catholicism as a child, however.
