Looks like I need to work on my greetings. Yours gives a creative visual. Mine shows far less enthusiasm and focus after too little sleep.

The Moon is now clearly visible above the trees, seen through my shack window.
If it wasn't so bloody cold, I'd get my camer kit out and take a picture. In a couple of hundred miles, that wind has not warmed up much.

Well, A good kip is very important to a girl.
With whom may be debatable, however.

Good day Lasters.
Looks like I may finally have a full-time job as I have to head there to learn about my new job starting at 9 am. Wash Bay Attendant, but I'm not gonna complain - not if I can make more cash!
Probably will mean less time for my writing though... as it's a good 45 minutes (maybe more as it's about 3.4km from here) away by walking at least according to Google.

Good evening.
I shouldn't attend meetings. I avoided an AGM last night that I knew was doomed to disaster. It was.
I also avoided being elected to clear up the mess. The Chairman and Vice Chairman had resigned and although they had set up the meeting were both conveniently 'somewhere in Europe on business' for the meeting they had called.
This afternoon was a much quieter and informal affair but I have committed myself to running their formal AGM, their first, in January. I'll do the boring bits such as getting the accounts approved, the constitution accepted, and the Committee elected and then handover to the Chairman to get the party going...
But I also acquired the task of getting a formal Premises Licence for an Artists' Workshop. I'll be doing all the paperwork, dealing with City Hall, presenting the application at the formal hearing...
I'm not even a member.

Hey ogg.
I feel sorry for you... sorta. People who don't do their jobs shouldn't have 'em.
But my job at my own company is all about the paperwork.

I've been running committees for voluntary organisations for over 50 years. My father and mother also held many committee posts. My mother died in post as Treasurer of her TownsWomen's Guild (but she'd done the accounts first!).
Sometimes there are unexpected benefits. My father became Chairman of Selectors for Miss Gibraltar (who went straight to the Miss World contest despite representing only 27,000 people). When Her Majesty the Queen visited Gibraltar he was presented to her three times in two days in his several capacities.

That's really cool.
I've met the pretend Queen at the local summer fair in Edmonton.

I have played King Henry VIII, at several events in front of thousands of people.
<-----
In character as King Henry, I presided over a dance festival, and opened a town fair alongside a former Prime Minister.
As me, I have met Her Majesty twice, and had tea at Buckingham Palace several times (in the servants' quarters as a Boy Scout car park attendant for Garden Parties).

That's quite nice.
I doubt I'll ever meet her, but I can't complain. I've met my local MP once and saw a celebrity ( former hockey player/coach or GM now) shopping.
My dream is to meet one or two of my favorite musicians one day.

You've got plenty of time yet. You're younger than my youngest daughter.
My local MP? I meet him too often for both of us. I have to pay postage on my Christmas card to him. He gets his postage free.
Musicians? I've met a few. Back in the 1960s I hired Eric Clapton (and others) for a private party. The group and associates outnumbered the guests but we all enjoyed ourselves.

The Moon and some stars are appearing and disappearing through the fast moving clouds.
The waves are thumping on the beach, driven on by a Northerly gale. The navigation buoy lights are clearly visible as are the lights on the wind farms 7 miles, 25 miles and 40 miles away.
The temperature would be below freezing except that it is near high tide and the wind is off the sea. When the tide ebbs, the temperature will drop about 2 degrees C, but still not to 0 C here. Inland? The gritters will be working through the night trying to keep the wet roads free of ice.
Tomorrow I attend another crisis committee meeting because an important member is resigning from pressure of work. The few people who do things are getting fewer. One of my tasks in January is to wind up one organisation and transfer the money to a similar organisation. It could prove complicated because all the registered signatories for the accounts are now dead. I'm glad that I managed to rewrite the constitution nearly 20 years ago. I included provisions for winding up if the organisation became defunct. It will be a sad occasion. That group had been in existence since 1928 but no one wants it anymore.
Happy last to everyone else.

No, Ogg; the voters (that's all of us) pay for his postage, I think (although it might be at a dsicounted rate.)

If he sends it from the House of Commons, which he does, it is at no cost to him.
Of course there is a cost that has to be paid to Royal Mail.
When the Post Office was still part of the Civil Service, all Official Correspondence i.e. On Her Majesty's Service was carried free of charge by the Post Office. They were effectively subsidising all other Government Departments. The Postmaster General was also responsible for telephones and telegrams so all those were free to Civil Service departments.
The Post Office was supposed to get reimbursed for other Departments' use of Post Office services. It never got the full cost.
Even so, the cost of our Members of Parliament, including all their expenses whether genuine or not, look like a real bargain compared with the running costs of EU administration.

Happy evening Last to everyone.
Almost time I turn on the oven to preheat so that I can make shake and bake chicken for my supper tonight.
Wasted most of today, when I should of spent the time writing that chapter of Time's Changes.

Good day everyone who's here in the Last thread.
It's pretty chilly outside and isn't likely to warm up any time soon. However, I'll learn by 9 am tomorrow if I have a full-time job that will give me the weekend off and be home 4 days a week by 5 PM (even if I have to be up those days at 5 am). Wednesday will be the exception as I'd work noon to 8 PM, so pretty much straight to bed when I get home that day.
