sure how many lines anyway....

Now the harvest moon shines in chilly nights,
beaming pumpkin-like; hung in inky space.
Branches shiver now; whip in wind-lashed flights,
crying outrage; gripped by airís cold embrace.

Now the fulsome greens fade to yellow tones,
or drop brilliant red before shrinking brown
to dance a skitter over summerís bones
in rasping counterpoint to drifting down.

Now tiny field mice creep to warmth and walls.
Birds swoop in codas against graying skies.
The trails of nutshell and flocksí fading calls
are seasonís denouťment, saying goodbyes

Autumn exhales an expiring breath
to fall blanketed under winterís death.

chairs creak
deck door closed

we are sealed in against
september

an over friendly relative
who stays to long
and talks too loud

and though we know
october waits
a coiled glacier

we hurry September
with a fond wish and a handshake

we hate the inbetween
we need
extremes

autumn's just a different sorta start
of lots of living
there are apple pies to be baked
and Canadian Thanksgiving
after the northern harvest
before the winter's cold.

a time of abundant freshness
overlading tables
Mom knows we can't eat it all
so most of it will go
to the church and shared
with anyone who wants it.

the fun is in the creation
of what's worth having
and what is worthy of being a gift
true charity begins at home
at a parent's knee as they teach
us how to receive love with grace.

Jamie has new glasses
And reads from memory
The opening passage of his
"Big Book, filled with turqoise calenders
And Warhol calligrapy, frightening really coming from a multimediast

"americana-americana, it's all i know"

Gina brings the next round to us on an upside down
dart board, brings one too many scotch and sodas and gives it to the blue dog.

Jamie stowed away in the shitter at the back of the hound, made if from Uttica to Lake Champlain when the ferry goons got wind and he hitched the drop thru the white mountains, caught a good ride to Bangor and called Chez to come pick him up.

45 now, the new glasses, thinner and with clearer eyes.

Chez blind DJ's up some Buffalo Springield, "so good to see you Jamie, its been along way."

Chezzie gets lucky again and pulls the Finn Brothers-

The new one.

A Minor
E Minor
Coal Miner
Idaho Smelt tailings
Red Rust coughs
In the water that runs into town-

Past Julia Trailers,
Emily and Jasmine,
Ever wanted to jump
Off the Hound
Nearly home in Montana
But still in Idaho,
Downhill squirlly brakes and
Lonesome
Just wipe
your boots
at the
Door,

Step right in.

Familiar chill of autumn sun
cool winds stir early fallers at our feet
and drift the wood smoke down
from faded blue
chill night falls early now
star shine and cold moon
whisper of frost
collars up and hand in hand
we walk the tide-swept sand
he said - do fish know itís autumn?
as we skip the flattest stones
salmon leap for home, I said,
desperate for
something
and we laugh about my reddened nose
drink hot coffee on the side walk
side by side
like we used to back then.

This was supposed to be erotic. It changed into something else, like Pygmalion ..

Love's Sculpture

He searches for each subtle clue
of what his art will be.
A flaw in fabric, a knot in wood
a crack inside the stone,
He sees all this and then he looks
deeper for a hint
Of golden fleck inside the granite
or a swirl of grain in wood.

But to have his touch on my formless
soul and take shape inside his mind.
This exquisite life can only be lived
as a treasure he will find.

Expose the golden heart cast
within the bronze.
Pound strength into the molten steel
forged from iron's rust.
The artisan makes me his craft
and creates Pygmalion's form
The lover clothed in workingman's skin
shapes this golem's heart.

And his breath upon my marble lips
warms them for his lonely kiss
Only my craftsman loves me enough
to transport my heart to bliss.

Tired tyres turn wearily homeward
Footsteps churn newsprint full of
hatred and whispers of war.
Can security be so elusive
Can safety be a bolt away?
Shut and lock your doors
Fear lurks in the shadows
We are reminded with every pixel
every wave length that seeps
into our sleeping brains.

sleep sweet
dream safe
it's all illusory
the strafe and strain
of world intrudes
peace eludes
and still the sky
is vast with beauty
we can still love
past the reign
of pain and fear
and ill

we are here still

like blades of grass that bend,
we sway, we still allay
bad news, defend the right
to believe in good

listen to children laugh
listen to jazz

it has a place
although we've never met,
although I've never seen
your face, but you are there
I feel your space

the power of one heart
is a good place
a shelter from the chaos
of our race

I LOVE all these you have written..

It is great just to let the mind wander where it will,
and just write

Thank You all for these moments
of your thought..

I really enjoyed them all~

That is the intention of the thread-

Somewhat in honour of Smithpeter and his Passion thread,

And in the spirit of spontaneity and the form of formlessness.

formlessness
ah yes
where thought and reaction are one
with no thought
thus expressing the true " self'
not easy brothers
because if they don't " know" you
it's all a ramble
a joke
and people say
what the fuck??
i could do that
and I beg to differ
like jazz
no you couldn't
the fact that you judge prevents it.

thinker
dreamer
hipwading through egos and thoughts and fucking and fear
you have no idea of the freedom
of just...being
not understood
not analyzed
just out there
like sheets on a clothes line
ever notice
no one hangs clothes out any more??

here I am Moe

mixolidian

the saintly mode
full of perfect fifths
and cave paintings inspired by

the sacred music of
cloistered masturbators drawing
ochre lines and mustard circles
thru to some orgasmic light,

only to return
only to return.

Hollow holograms
holding no meaning
given in generosity
to the needy.
Gratefully grasped
in hope of salvation
then left on a park bench
forgotten.
And for the birds
to carry away,
nesting for next year.

searsucker navy suit
3 bucks and an avacodo shirt
he found my favorite purple scarf
i told him to dress warm
but he argues like a brother and wont listen-

my best friends father did slip away
in manchester last night
and we walked the river and
talked of industrial revelations
smiles on that young face, box camera and
thieves creeping into the ancient wood,
joined in a pact that wont last

still .

still.

love.
