well...i'll put myself out there on this....
Would you ever sell yourself to another person for money?
Short answer, no.
Would you ever pay money to buy another person?
Why or why not?
I'm ex navy...and we visited some 3rd world countries.
Some of those countries had a lot of women available for rent...
Before I went there I told my shipmates that I'd never pay for sex, blah blah blah...
well you get there, and the women cost like $3 US to get for the day/night....
We'd pay the bar fine to get a few out of the bar, usually buy them dinner go to a club (women couldn't get in unless they were escourted by a man, which i think kinda defeats the purpose...) we'd hang out and so on.
We had a good time and it wasn't all about sex, it was a local girl to hang out with. She'd usually show us the best places to shop and some would even take us home to meet her family.
They could usually feed their family for weeks on what she made from us, we'd always tip well and treated them well. Were they hookers? In a way yes, but in another way they weren't. Most were young and sweet. Most saw it as a way to help their family when the US ship was in town and didn't do it when the ship wasn't docked.
Some were hoping to get the guy to fall in love with her so she could marry him and she could get outta the country.
Does "forced" prostitution play a factor?
Some of the girls above might have been forced into it....
I can't be sure, but i figured that if they are forced to do it, then they might as well be with me rather than someone who might beat the hell outta them or worse.

Just to be very clear, by "forced" (with quotes) I meant in the context of a dominant/master instructing his/her submissive/slave to prostitute themselves. All parties should be adults and the only "force" should be through the consensual relationship.

This is an odd story, but one worth sharing...
My daughter is running for Homecoming Queen. Her dad (my ex) were discussing how we were going to raise the money because whoever raises the most money, wins.

As far as paying/bartering for sex. I wouldn't do it. I of course am looking though the persective of a female and a submissive. perhaps that is a diferent veiw point than most. I would want a sexual experiance to be based on me not what they will get out fo it other than me. If I have share myself with someone that should be enough.

I actually was a prostitute. Not for long, and I was young, homeless and stupid at the time. I survived. It wasn't what I'd call the best time of my life, but it didn't suck either. (I did, but that's beside the point.
) It didn't lower my self image an ounce, in fact, if anything it considerably raised it to learn there were people who'd pay a hundred bucks an hour for my time and my body. And that was in the 80's! And I was 16! Admittedly, I'm lucky to be alive- that was Seattle at the height of the Green River Killings.
Obviously, I don't recommend it as a way for a teen to make a living or build a life, but I think Amsterdam & Nevada have got something there with legalizing it, if only because I feel that NOBODY has a RIGHT to tell ME what I CAN or CAN not do with/to my own body! (I'm for legalizing suicide too, by the way.)

Actual Prostitution? I'm for it, given MUCH better safety, controls, and healthcare.
D/s fantasy prostitution? Hell, yeah. (Especially good if the Dom is cool with sharing, and has a friend or two to aid in the scene...)

You damn right you are! I studied that case. There were over 40 known murders attributed to him at that time. Because he wasn't one of the publicity-seeking types, it was estimated even then that there might have been more. Since then, the count is well over 50. Some think he was killing as often as once a week, mostly trolling the same areas, at the height of it. I think the area he frequented the most was called the Strip, but I'm not certain now.

Yep- The Strip was down by Sea-Tac airport, and wasn't where I worked. If any in thread-attendance are familiar with Seattle and it's regions, I was what's refered to as a "2nd Avenue girl", which was then considered fairly cut-rate, but not nearly as bad as North Aurora, or the Strip. Mostly on 2nd were homeless teens with delusions of grandeur, I think. The Strip & Aurora catered more to junkies and the terminally Lost, I'm afraid. (And still do.)

Why not be honest about the whole transaction from the start?

Been there and done that at a time when it suited me....don't think I would pay for it myself, but never say never.....and yes, it is an effective part of D/s for those it works for and can be made to use for a variety of purposes, especialy if without the luxury of the submissive making a choice as to who they will and won't accept.....IMO seems to lose a lot of purpose if choice is given.

Does race or culture ever play a part in one's D/s play? And would that be relatable to fantasy-prostitution, forced or otherwise?
My Master's Native American, I'm Celto-anglo-teutonic. And while that's never actually an issue in our play, he plays on my "white-girl"ness often enough in daily life. I don't take it too badly since I know he's kidding, though it sometimes rubs me the wrong way to be summarily lumped with the anscestors, (not even mine,) who mistreated/subjegated/murdered his.

Not yet, but it is Incubus' intention to hire me out at some stage. I don't think of it as forced prostitution, but as a part of our play. It would have more to do with what turns us on than real prostitution in that he would never place me in a dangerous situation, so I imagine that when the time comes the customer/s will be specially chosen.
ps Techno, I can think of lots of games where a big scary savage would fit right in. Did you know that the CrimeTV website has video interviews with the Green River killer talking about the murders & his fantasies? SKs are a hobby of mine too, we should swap stories.
