To be updated when the inevitable occurs.

Feel free to speculate here until then.

well, if you can update it anyway. let's see how the cyberattacks go first.

22% of oil goes through the Iranian waters of the Strait of Hormuz. The best retaliation is one that hurts us economically. And just as the same as happened after 9-11, let us destroy ourselves from within. Americans are too fucking stupid to see what we have lost.

Agreed. I think they're likely.

Not sure what form they'd take yet, though. Unfortunately, they have lots of options.

Kudos Rory. This is by far your most ghoulish thread ever. May it live in infamy.

Which options do they have now that they didn't have the day before we killed their chief exporter of terror?

What's going to be different now versus the four decades of death to America being chanted by Iran?

The 70's called, they want their energy policy back.that is not where we get our oil. Yes if such a thing occurred the price of oil on the World Market will go up and then American consumers will need to compete, but the advantage economically in the scenario you describe would go to America because we would have the most abundant supply of energy vs. Other idustrialized nation. Your scenario is fairly limited since it's likely to get far worse than that since there's a decent chance we will wipe out the Iranian oil production capability.

There's this new thing called fracking I don't know if you've heard about it, also Obama's energy policies * are no longer in effect.

Funny how you people on the left can't seem to decide what your position is on fossil-fuel depending upon who's in office and who is or is not restricting the flow of oil. Why don't you guys have a meeting about that and get back to us?

*which were designed to make our energy more expensive and less available to encourage conservation (which Rob insisted resulted in lower gas prices.)

Jesus fucking christ que...at least do a simple google before you post. And then take an introductory class in fucking economics. Does 22% of the World's oil pass through that Strait? Yes. So...do we need to be the one buying it to affect prices? No.

What a pathetic moron.

Ever notice how he habitually calls my threads "ghoulish", yet he then chomps at the bit to exploit them?

It takes a special kind of stupid to miss the hypocrisy of that. :rose:

It takes a special kind of stupid to miss the hypocrisy of that, but he manages. :rose:

What amazes me, is he used to be able to use his brain. We actually had several interesting conversations in the pre-dribble era. A few effective google searches will prove that 22% of the World's oil does pass through that Strait. It is also easy to find that 11% of the US oil imports come from the Saudis. Then, if he was really creative, one could ask what port does the majority of Saudi oil exports leave by? One does not have to "stop" oil from flowing...but they have every right to stop every ship and inspect them. Is the US gonna escort every ship? Who pays for that? Nothing a few mines wont fix.

No one is arguing the dude was an ass. But you dont assinate a foreign general. It is not prudent and will only cost Americans.

In what rulebook does it say that?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

In WWII Yamamoto was assassinated...

Fuck e'm we got more oil NOW than we can pump out of the ground and sell.

While we don't WANT to force a Governmental regime change in Iran doesn't mean we will not if they don't stop their bullshit.

If Mel wants to keep from going to pieces, she should probably stay far, far, far away from Donny.

if that was true, we wouldn't be paying $3 a gallon.

Hardly.

U.S. oil exports exceed imports for first time
The United States last week exported more crude oil and fuel than it imported for the first time on record, underscoring the nation’s growing influence as a supplier of oil to the world.

Since 2018.

You should acquaint yourself with the subject matter before you chastise people for ignorance. The shipping lane in the strait is an international water way. Yes, the capability exist to escort each ship either by air or by sea. Canada, Mexico cover most of our shortages.

Yes you do take out terrorist whether they're generals or not.

We also declared war. Go play w the children and leave adult conversations to adults

The point is, is that it's not the first time the US took out a General of another nation. Unless you served over there and witnessed what that despicable fucker did to our brothers and sisters you should probably keep your ignorant rant to a minimum.
