shouldn't we use more hydrogen internal combustion engine now? because

I was working on an idea many years ago to solve California's insatiable need for electricity and drinking water. I was working out the details of using hydrogen combustion engines to turn generators. Sea water could be converted to hydrogen to run the engines salt harvested from sea water sold as table salt and of course the by-product of hydrogen combustion is pure water.

Had it all worked out. Except for one thing. It takes about 50% more electric power to convert water to hydrogen than a hydrogen combustion engine can generate.

Read up on perpetual motion theory.

Locally we have just got planning permission for a hydrogen-producing plant on the edge of our town.

Initially it will supply London Transports' buses and then local buses but there will be a car filling station in about 3 years' time.
