To be bumped in 2020.

(I don't think this mess is gonna be cleaned up in time to unseat an incumbent.)

Once she's in there and shows that she isn't going to be the evil queen so many people are painting her as, I certainly think the Republicans are going to have to come up with a knight in four years who shines a whole lot brighter than any of the ones they fielded this time.

Any squeaky clean Republicans coming up who will have some credible experience under their wings by 2020--and who can't be said to have sold out in any way to the Trump candidacy or who will be involved in the promised shutdown on Clinton Supreme Court nominations, which will really get intolerable to the voters in even a four-year term?

The markets will like 16 years of Democrat rule. They can adjust to any party in power but IMO would prefer long term stability.

Depends on how bad the GoP implodes or explodes in to fringe parties.

As long as who ever is in is a free trader, we will be happy up here. But what ever is good for the U.S. is good for us.

Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt. - Pierre Trudeau

Once she's in and demonstrates she's an even more evil queen that answers to one, until she can't steal the next election, what y'all should be worried about is how big a nutbar the next GOP candidate is going to be, because they're gonna win on a landslide.

Because he will be even SCARIER than Trump.

Because he will be even SCARIER than Drumpf.

I think the Republicans will get their asses in shape for the next election and put up a candidate they can stand behind. I think many of them realize the three-ring circus with all the candidates earlier is PART of the reason Trump got to where he is. They'll make sure they're not embarrassed like that again any time soon.

That never came to pass with Obama though. Hell he might just go out near his highest poll numbers.

Hillary's challenge will be the first six months of witch hunts and then seeing if the GOP are ready to fall in line.

Wrong. Dead wrong.
It will be younger alt-right establishment wunderkind, that will sink the US into never before seen depths that will make you pine for the "what-if's" of Trump.
Obama was basically a white woman placesitter POTUS, Hillary will be a nightmare...and like all other attempts to steer the ship away from the rapids the vapid electorate just plunged full steam ahead.

These two things are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Sort of.

I think Rory is right about a Dem winning in 2020 but I think the Republicans will get their ass in shape before then- for the reasons the lovely and talented Miss Ferm so eloquently said.

I am not stating a Republican will WIN the next election against Hilary. I just don't foresee them letting the nomination slip by them like this did one. They honestly all thought there was no way Trump would ever get the nod so they dragged it out too long. Bernie realized he could make the same mistake as the Republicans and hand the election to Trump or back Hilary.

both parties have been moving towards the right for years. the GOP has gone too far to the right, so far that they're beginning to splinter and try to outcrazy each other. it will take more than 4 years to regroup bro.

You shut that mouth! They can't both go right...although I guess eventually they will go so far right they come back left.

Don't sass me, vile woman!

Can't I just go to confession and be forgiven?

You don't have any faith in Bobby Jindal or Michele Bachmann?

I can't tell you how happy I am that fuckstick Jindal is now one of the least-liked politicians in America.

"Republican Obama"... lol!

Pubs have a problem. Their policies are hated by most Murkans. They know they can't win free and fair elections because nausea. And now there's no Pub culture anyway -- only mainstream (corporate) vs baghead / Trompster anti-system populists. However weak a Demo 2020 field may be, the Pubs are even weaker and bleaker. It's hard to win when your prospectives are dipped in dogshit.

I disagree. I think the Republican bench is deep. You've got both Ryans, Marco and Rubio who have long futures if they don't do anything incredibly stupid. Christie could hang around as well.

The Dems. . .after Hillary there is. . .essentially barren wastelands as far as the eye can do. The question is if they are wise enough to see that and work on elevating new blood.

Hell, I'd be happy to get back to regular Obama vs Boehner level of gridlock.

Fuck you Donald, you've made be wish for the good old Tea Party days.

see, if you retarded slaves had real jobs then you would be anti hillary

but, most of you fucktards are on welfare so ... what the fuck do you care. not like you assholes pay taxes
