Character Profile: Calysia [Cah•lee•see•ya] Shadowmane - Before the Horde Excursion to Northrend - After the Battle of Angrathar the Wrath Gate -

Some History of the Character Portrayed

"Calysia! You had better be safe! Remember to keep your hood up or your ears will get cold!" her mother called after her. Even though she was a warrior in the Horde army, her mother was still concerned. And to be honest, she wished that more people cared as much as her mother did. After the death of her father in the last war, she had been the one to take up most of the work around their home. She looked back over her shoulder, the tightly wrapped skins of the hut shining from the oils on it, a smile spreading across her snout. As she hung her satchel over the horn of the saddle mounted on Keijuu's back, she patted his fur, working her way down to his cud filled muzzle to give him a bite of golden apple.. The family kodo had seen many wars but was still young and still very strong. Strong enough to be used in carrying weapons across the Borean Tundra, as the Warchief had ordered. Even now, Thrall was in Orgrimmar awaiting her and several other Tauren to arrive so they could make their way down to the shores at Bladefist Bay so the excursion could begin.

"I will mother. Take care of my little brother Kal. Make sure he eats his greens," Calysia hollered back across the Mulgore plains as the wind kicked up. She turned her head to the sky as she closed her eyes, allowing the wind spirit to wrap around her. She kicked her hooves on the ground as she then knelt to the earth, mumbling a soft prayer to the Earth Mother. To protect her family. To protect the soldiers. To protect the Horde. To protect Azeroth overall. She had not a care for her own well being.

She jumped on the back of the Kodo, gently nudging the side to turn him towards the east. She looked back once more as her mother waved alongside her little brother. The little tuft of a mane on his head blowing in the wind as he waved to her. "Take care, Calysia! Bring me back something!" he called out.

She nudged Keijuu once more and the Kodo jumped into a slight gallop, thundering across the plains. What would the land to the north bring? How would she change? She couldn't let that bother her. She could only let the Earth Mother guide her way.

*Time Skip to the Battle of Angrathar, the Wrath Gate*

Blood flying, spurting from all the fallen Horde soldiers. Alliance soldiers crying out as heads were decapitated. Calysia turned her head as she looked about, her eyes frantically searching the battlefield for her commanding officer. But there was no sign of him. She thrust her blade into the mangled body of a scourge bastard, bringing her head up once more just as she felt her torso become burning hot then a freezing sensation was sent through her very core.. She turned her head. Her eyes frozen on the one that had impaled her, her blood turning cold as ice as it slipped down her form. Her legs limp from exhaustion as she was held in mid-air.

"You will serve me well." was all she heard before everything went dark.

Her eyes soon fluttered open. There was no pain. She was cold that she could tell, her breath frozen as it blew out her nostrils. Fear shot through her as she looked about looking for what could be causing her to feel this way. Then she felt it. In the corner of the room. The fear that continued to rise within her was caused by none other than him. The one they had come here to end. To stop from conquering Azeroth. The Lich King.

"Rise, my death knight and show me what you can do," came his voice like a frozen dagger hanging in the air as she felt something bump up against her. She looked to her side and it was a Draenei soldier. His armor colored bright blue and gold, that of the Alliance. She watched as he slowly moved into a standing position. Another bump to her opposite side. She turned her head, it was a Troll. His tusks broken and blood showing on his head, as if it was frozen in place near his red hair. She looked back in front of her. Weapons. They were glowing. An eerie presence indeed. Something she hadn't expected. The ones that moved ahead of her were grabbing at different weapons. The troll grabbed two swords, both covered in runes. The Draenei grabbed an axe.

"He wants me to fight them? No. He wants us to fight each other," she thought to herself. "Fight." That's all it took for the two forms to lunge at her - weapons ready to kill.. She jumped out of the way, dodging as the blades clanged on the floor. She reached for a polearm, something she wasn't used to, but that's all she could do right now. It had a scythe on the end of it. She bent backwards as she ducked out of the way of the axe, it cut part of her mane in the sweep in front of her face. She kicked her hoof out and knocked the Draenei off balance, bringing the scythe down into his chest, killing him with a ripping motion up his throat.

The laugh of the Lich King was bone-chilling as she looked to the Troll. She focused on him as the Troll laughed as well, but it wasn't the same type of scornful laugh. It was saddening.. "I be wantin' mercy from ya, lady Tauren. Kill me. Rip my heart out of my chest. Dis not be how I be wantin' ta live, if I even be livin'," he begged. Calysia couldn't stand it. She felt herself not sure what to do. Then she kicked him down, his weapons flying to the floor. Clang! She brought the scythe down.

"Earth Mother guide you." Her own voice cold as it echoed in the chamber, blood flying for a brief moment before freezing against the marble floor. She fell to her knees. She heard heavy steps behind her, plate boots moving closer.

"Good. You will prove to be of good use to me and your beast will be of use to you as well." Calysia raised her head to hear the sudden grunts of her beloved family Kodo.

"Oh Keijuu," she sobbed as he grunted, the beast's eyes glowing bright and breath frozen over, showing signs of having been resurrected.

*Years after the fall of the Lich King, the Cataclysm shook Azeroth, a few years after Garrosh Hellscream escaped to Draenor through a time portal after his crimes in Pandaria. Vol'jin has died, Sylvanas is Warchief. The Legion has incurred wrath upon Azeroth and war is imminent. This is where we come in, well, where I come in..."

Stepping through the portal from Thunder Bluff into Orgrimmar, I looked around at the red dirt streets bustling with life. "It's good to be back here," I said stretching after the tedious portal jump. Home just wasn't the same anymore. Not many of the Tauren really wanted to look me in the face. Even though Garrosh had pardoned most of the Death Knights and Vol'jin had allowed us refuge here on Kalimdor, it just wasn't the same. And with Sylvanas as Warchief now, she didn't care. She just saw us as people to carry out orders. Besides, my mother had died and my brother held me accountable even though I hadn't been home. I remember Kal screaming at me after I had come home, after the Lich King had fallen. My mother basically collapsed. My breath cold against the warm winds of Mulgore. Her heart just couldn't take it. The rumors had reached back to our small village and her heart was broken. She died that evening from a stress induced illness. And Kal blamed me - he joined the Horde Army and I know he's here in Orgrimmar, but he must be purposely avoiding me. I walked over to the inn in Valley of Strength before going to Grommash Hold. I tossed a few gold onto the counter for Gryshka before downing a pint of ale. I had never drank Ale before. But since everything had gone to hell with my family, I didn't care anymore. It wasn't as if it gave me any pleasure anyway. Well, it did make me a bit tipsy, but that was beside the point.

I walked out and headed over to Grommash Hold, leaving Keijuu tied up outside. I walked in, bowing slightly to Sylvanas, our Warchief. "I have returned. The crates made it perfectly. Baine appreciated the delivery." I grabbed my pay and turned to leave.

"Wait, Tauren," the Banshee Queen hissed as she held up a rolled up paper. "There is trouble rising in Dalaran. A mage will be available to conjure a portal for you to go there."

I turned to regard her. "Dalaran? The new one above the Broken Shore? Why? Why there?" I questioned.

She shrugged. "I just know of the intelligence my lackeys have told me. You are to meet a Human there," the word seemed to seethe on her lips as she curled them in a wicked grin. "Just go there on this mission and return to me. Do not fail me, Death Knight."

I bowed, "Yes, Dark Lady." I turned to go out.

I rested for a time before calling for a mage. The Portal was summoned and I paid handsomely, to which the goblin mage giggled with glee. I walked through. I burst through the other side, catching my frozen breath. "I will never get used to that," I muttered. I pulled out a stone from my satchel and called out Keijuu. He grunted hard as his hooves hit the ground.

"Let us see if this Human is here, my pet," I muttered, running my fingers through his mane, as we walked through the streets to find the Inn that our 'source' was to be at.

It was another quest and another silver to add to my pocket. I made my way toward the underbelly waiting for the horde to send one of there delegates I thought to myself why not enjoy myself before we meet I walked into the local brothel where i most frequented seeing humans blood elves night elves orcs and a few goblins dancing for the nearby customer. I walked toward the owner of the place and gave my best smile is Marie available she smiled back and pointed toward the goblin in the corner serving drinks thanks I said placing down a gold piece I walked over and got about a few inches away from Marie and whispered into her ears the usual room was all I said.

I was giving Marie my best pounding with my dick making sure to get nice and deep within her i was loving the feel of the juices coating my cock I kept making her scream in her goblin language making her want more I reached up and began to caress her small tits I looked toward the wall and noticed the small clock was past the time i was supposed to meet up with one of the Horde delegates fuck I screamed flipping Marie off of me making her land onto the bed I blew a kiss toward her and threw a few silver and copper piece thanking her for the unbelievable fuck I walked down the stairs and waved at the owner and told them thank you I walked out the front door outside I managed to get my pants button and shirt over my body before I looked up and saw a large Taruen looking at me I gave a smirk and finally said like what you see horde.

The sun passing overhead. It was unbelievably hot in this region of the world. It had been clear in the days past that with the Legion attacks that it was affecting Azeroth. I could only pray to the Earth Mother that everything would be alright, if she even would hear my prayers anymore. I snorted, shaking my head. I looked around. Not a sign of the 'human' I was to meet with.

"Another time, Keijuu," I said clicking the stone with my finger sending my beloved companion away. The damned Lich King. I didn't care about what he did to me, but he could have left the family Kodo out of it. But then again, stories were that he had even used that runeblade Frostmourne on his own steed, resurrected from a long death after an accident in his childhood..

I walked towards a Blood Elf guard of the Kirin Tor, who regarded me with a sly grin - eyes glowing and long blonde hair pulled into a tight do for his helm. "How may I be of service?"

I needed to pick my words carefully. I wasn't sure if this was a demon in disguise or just an ordinary guard. "If someone were to meet another and they weren't here on the surface for the meeting time, where would such a person go to pass time?"

"The Underbelly," he smirked. "That's where I would go, if I could break post of course for a drink or two." I bowed slightly, waving back as I proceeded to the sewer entrance. I walked around, the stench horrible, but not as bad as some of the things I have smelled coming from the abominations in Undercity. I took the path along the small underground creek, a door opening in front of me. I stepped back and waited to see who would interrupt my path. I was angry, I snorted through my nostrils, gritting my teeth.

A human. Blonde, blue and white gear, sly smirk on his face. Just what Lady Sylvanas had described. And his attitude - so smug. I rolled my eyes as I looked down to him. He wasn't as short as many other humans I had encountered, but still shorter than my 6'4" stature. "How could I like what I see? I see nothing but a smug Alliance scum in my way. Unless you're who I'm supposed to be meeting?"

I held out a scroll with contents only visible by those who had been sent out to greet those on the same mission. "Are you the one?" I muttered, urging him to open the scroll, while I kept a watch out.

I chuckled a bit when she called me alliance scum at least I still got skin mountain of beef I said with a smirk Horde always the same I said taking the scroll and unwrapping it I raised my head and looked at the Tauren the names Alex Tindall I said holding out my hand so I assume you got your orders from the Banshee queen herself I know there is a lot of animosity between the Horde and Alliance since the Horde turned tail and ran out of the war for the broken shore but lets end that right here I said taking out a small scroll and handing it back to the Tauren this is was received by S 7 this morning I was told to give this to the Horde I would be working with it entails the details toward our destination I moved a bit and said shall we get going or would you prefer to fight now and get any grudges we have against each other out of the way first.

I took the scroll from him, a smirk appearing on my snout as frozen breath escaped from my nostrils. "You wouldn't stand a chance against me, wyrm," I shook my head. "The petty name calling aside, my chieftain doesn't believe in war with Alliance. He seeks peace just like your newly anointed king." I held my hand out for him to walk with me. My hooves clacking on the cobblestone pathway of the Underbelly as we went along. "What happened to your late King and my late Warchief must be stopped. Gul'dan is our focus, well -- our military's focus for the time being. You understand that?"

I unfurled the scroll. The taurahe was scribbled on the parchment was almost unintelligible but I managed to make out what they wanted. I couldn't believe it. They wanted me to go with him to the Broken Shore to gather intelligence from demons?! "Demons?!" I exclaimed, my voice echoing as we exited the sewers, peoples attentions turning towards us and them looking away. I kept my voice down so I could focus on our conversation.

"They want me to work with someone like you to handle them? Why? Why in all the world?" I put my hand up to my forehead. "I need an ale. You know of any place around here, at least before we jetty off to the Shore?"

I began to chuckle when she said I would stand a chance against her I beg to differ i mumbled under my breath. I can agree with you on that Gul'dan must be stopped and the portal be closed forever. We passed above on the street when the Tauren screamed out demons I looked around and saw the many faces and looked back at her I laughed a bit and said yeah there is a good bar just down this street I said taking lead and making her follow we got to the bar and walked over to the small table in the corner of the bar I raised my fingers indicating to the bartender two thunderale I said in a loud voice so care to tell me your name or should I keep with the name Tauren also what's your story haven't seen many Tauren death knights since leaving Northend two years ago I believe.

I looked to the table. Smaller chairs than the ones in any of the Inns in Orgrimmar - that just wouldn't do.. I grunted looking at them. I glanced around the bar only to notice a taller and larger ashen oak seat, most likely hand-crafted by the Dwarven people of Ironforge for some of the larger races in Azeroth. I pulled it from the table and brought it closer. The Thunderale brews were sat before us, my flagon quite larger to which I didn't care in the slightest. If this human was buying, best for both of us..

Then he mentioned about wanting to know my name. "Calysia. Calysia Shadowmane. And I wasn't always a Death Knight like most of the ones of history and lore from before the Lich King, for example Teron Gorefiend." I spit onto the floor as I looked back to him, the name of Teron Gorefiend lingering on my lips as I took a nice heavy swig of the ale. It hit the spot for certain. "That bastard had been the one to kill my uncle, but that's another story and another time, even before I was birthed from my mother's womb."

"I was training earlier on as a druid, but the earth wasn't my calling. I decided to follow in my father's footsteps and be a warrior. My mother was worried sick for days on end about if I'd come home or not, whereas my father had not during the war before the battle of Angrathar. Then my time came. Many Tauren were called out to Orgrimmar to sail from Bladefist Bay. To make our trek onward to stop the Lich King." I paused at the sound of the title that Arthas Menethil had given himself. Something sinister and that generations would remember forever.

I continued. "I believe that most of our troop was thrown to the Lich King for fodder to strengthen his forces, as our commanding officer was not seen after the battle. Some say he never existed and was just a shadow among the ranks." I took another gulp of the ale, the brew making me feel just a tad on the tipsy side, but I was alright. "When I returned to Orgrimmar, Garrosh Hellscream and many of the others within the city didn't like me. They threw horrid rotten vegetables at me and other things they could get their hands on. Same with the other Death Knights that came with me."

The tab came and I looked to the human. "Nah, I've got it." I popped five gold onto the table, picking up the tab. I waved the waitress over to take the tab back before Alex could throw the gold back at me. "Bring us some Smoked Rockscale Cod, three helpings of Salted Venison, three helpings of bread and four flagons of moonberry wine, sealed of course. For the road." I pulled out another 20 gold and handed it to the Gnome maid, who scurried off to the kitchen and could be heard yelling out the order.

I looked to Alex. "So. What about you? What's your story? What's your skill? I expect it to be something splendid considering how you are dressed."

I listened deeply to her story of how she grew up and was thrust into the wrath gate affair "I can image how that went I was stationed in Theramore when that happened so it seems me and you are just a few years of age." I watched her bring out gold and paid for the drinks and the food for the road I chuckled a bit at the small gnome running past the table. I was a little taken back when she asked about my story "Well my story is I am former SI:7 trained under Calia Hastings was taught the way of the warlock by Demisette Cloyce." both I can honestly say were fun teachers if you get my meaning I said with a grin when the legion came back every warlock was utilized and sent on missions I was lucky and got stationed in Dalaran alongside mage's so you can see how happy I am dealing with someone other than a mage don't get me wrong I said holding my hands up mage's have their moments but I have never been partnered with Death knight of your status I said with a smile.

"Let me set something straight. I'm about 23 years old and that's as old as I'll ever get. I'll never get old like you will be one day," I chuckled a bit as I had insulted him. I listened to him. SI:7. Warlock trainer. Blade trainer as well. He could be of good use to me. But his attitude was appalling and his demeanor...insufferable. I shivered just sitting there. And now he was stumbling over his own words as he threw his hands up.

The gnome returned leaving the crates on the ground, I handed her a small satchel of gold as I placed my hand up. "Just gonna stop you right there -- a death knight of my stature? What would you know of Death Knights? I don't believe King Wrynn would have allowed that many into his city.." I looked down to the crate and pulled out a stone, throwing it on top, the crate being swallowed up by the stone. "Now our supplies are ready.. What do you know about how to get to the Broken Isles?"

I began to laugh real loud when she said I would get old clearly you don't know the way mage's and warlocks deal with age I said with a smirk. I watched the gnome come back with crates of food and supplies I watched Calysia use a stone and suck up all the food and supplies for the excursion. I have known a few death knights in my life I said sipping the thunderale and I'm 27, by the way, I may not look old but I can hold my own in a fight. I smiled when she asked how we would get to the broken isles that is going to be a hard thing to do we could get to Azsuna from Dalarn real easy take a skyship down but that would involve having to deal with any demons that attacked us along the way what do you think?

I shrugged off his comment and raised an eyebrow at his age. Young. But still a bit wet behind the ears, perhaps. Then again... The plan he was suggesting. It would allow my blade to taste demonic blood. Something that hadn't happened since the first invasions appeared across Azeroth weeks ago. "The boat at the port. You could handle that?" I said throwing back the rest of the Thunderale, wiping the remnants of the foam from my muzzle. I looked to him.

I stood up and turned towards the door. "Well, get to stepping," I said with a small snide smile. I was messing with him. "You know I'm fooling with you.." I reassured him, "..after all, we're stuck together until this mission is done. We don't want to be deserters.."
