Princess Annabell sighed dramatically as the servants swept in and out of her bedroom, collecting all her most precious belongings and preparing them for transport. She was setting off any moment now for a six month journey to the neighboring Kingdom where she was to wed the prince. She knew very little about him, except he was fond of drink, sport, women, and war. Oh, and he was 54 years old. You see, this was a political marriage. Annabell's father had elected to marry her off to the Kingdom of Dradal to have the larger Kingdom's protection, for it was well known that her father's Kingdom was more known for it's art and culture than war triumphs. Annabell was dreading this marriage, and she made sure to let everyone around her know it.
She sat in her now nearly empty chambers, waiting for one of her father's knights to come and retrieve her. Among the knights guarding her on the journey to the capital of Dradal was Joshua the Fearless, though he should be called Josh the Handsome if you asked the princess. She'd had a crush on him since she was a young girl. He was the handsomest of all her father's knights, and the most talented among his peers. She was glad she would at least have him nearby on this dreadful journey; most of the men escorting her were older, seasoned warriors, but Josh was the exception. He was young, and exceptionally talented.
A knock at the door drew the princess from her thoughts. "Come in," she said grumpily.
