An increase in readers?

Are there suddenly more readers? Or is it my imagination?

My stories have limited appeal. (Hey, that’s life.) I normally get a couple of hundred readers and maybe 30 or 40 votes in the first couple of days after posting. Suddenly, in the first day, I have more than 1,500 reads and almost 200 votes – and the day is not yet over. OK, so some of those votes are undoubtedly one-bombs. But still.

Has anyone else noticed an upsurge in readership?

Or perhaps you've been 'discovered' ?

I haven't looked at my votes since the last quarterly track in February, but I have noticed a recent spike in favorites and comments above the norm I would expect after a long lull of not releasing anything.

Are they real readers? Or are they scumbags trawling the story site, stealing stories for other sites. Heard of this practice happening from some other authors a few years back.

Something is wrong...I have never had readership like this for a story, even though it's in the Incest category...

945 Votes, 122559 Reads. Last time I looked the votes were around 40 and the reads around 2500.

Most of my stories now have massive increases in reader and voters, but the score hasn't changed at all. And the favorites haven't increased.

Coding glitch? Bots?

Ya might send Manu a Message and link. He's supposed to be starting so new stuff up.

I keep track of the views on all of my stories. There aren't that many and I just table the views on a legal pad every weekday morning. The pad is at my office and I'm not, but I don't see an increase in views that strikes me as unusual.

I don't track votes, but they look pretty normal too.

Skimmed my votes and views and checked a few random ones against the Feb. track. I see the same unexpected uptick I'm getting in comments and favorites. No massive jumps. Just more activity than the norm when I've been dormant for a while.
