'Dogging' is British English for consensual outdoor exhibitionism and voyeurism. Usual locations would be in a car park *in the countryside, woodlands, country parks, or a lay-by* near a country road.

Glossary:
  • Lay-by (Br Eng): a short parking area, to pull off the carriageway, preferably with trees and/or a hedge separating it from the road
  • car park (Br Eng):= parking lot (US Eng)

The term 'dogging' is said to derive from a common excuse for being in a suitable area for the activity, viz: 'walking the dog'.

I'd be interested in hearing from others – especially (though not exclusively) UK members – of their experiences, and I promise to share a few of mine.

This is definitely one of those things that from a fantasy perspective, I find very appealing. There's the voyeurism thing and the anonymous and sexually willing partner which are definitely a turn on.

But I think I would struggle with the reality as I just think I would find it a bit seedy to be sharing a woman with a group of strange men. Not in any way passing judgment on those that do it but one best kept in the fantasy box for me, I think.

I guess its easier (safer) for a lone man than for a lone woman. For couples, they mostly hang around and get the measure of who's about before they decide whether to put on a show.

Lots more people like the idea – but keep it just as a fantasy – than actually try it, I think. Nothing wrong with that.

A lot of it is pre-arranged, so it's more like swingers enjoying some healthy outdoor exercise! And in many locations people kinda get to know and recognise each other.

As I've remarked to Gloria Stits*, above, lots more people like the idea – but keep it just as a fantasy – than actually try it, I think. Nothing wrong with that.

Own experiences

I'll try to make time this afternoon, or the weekend, to let you know some of my own experiences.

However, I have to admit, there can sometimes be long, long periods of hanging about before there's any action. And sometimes a long wait with no action at all.

Had an experience like your second one, decades ago, with my 1st wife. She was on top, in a long, floaty maxi-dress, so no-one could see anything.

It is usually a form of group sex with those involved being consenting adults. Dogging does not have to include partner swapping, but is usually a group of like minded people meeting at a defined location.

Dogging can also be done with just two people running the risk of being observed.
