love reading books. lets see I mostly read horror, mystery, detective, thriller, adventure and fantasty type of books
 
I read any and everything. I grew up in a house with an evolving library of books. I prefer to buy secondhand books to borrowing. (ADD, fines end up being more than books.)

I have crates of books in storage, and about two crates worth littering my room now. I buy a few everytime I hit the big city. I won't spend much per book. There are too many books to read to fixate on a title if I don't stumble upon it.

There is no bookstore withing 150 miles, used or otherwise. I was devouring the local library and managing to return them, then they tore the charming 1960's interior out, taking sledge hammers to now rare exotic woods. I assume they have since installed particle board shelving in the name of progress.

I think its closing coincided wit my ramping up being online. I haven't gone back to the library since. I assume it should be re-opened by now but I haven't heard.

I read a lot of fiction but prefer it be written by someone that has done something outlined in the narrative. I learn a lot on accident that way.

I like biographies, and technical books.

In fiction I have always gravitated to mysteries but when the little library in maine ran out of mysteries I read all their science fiction as well. I am not as fond of "modern" science fiction. They seem like romance or adventure novels in a future-scape to me.

...because of the, literally, 200 other threads just like this one - one of which is three pages back - and that cover every probable range of topics related to the answer of the original post, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to try and murder the thread.

I thought that was obvious...?
