The fundraising event in a Las Vegas hotel's convention hall was to begin in less than an hour when John glanced past his campaign chairman and saw the most incredible creature he'd seen in ... well, in as long as he could remember.
He ogled her for a long moment as the man guiding his quest for his party's nomination rattled on about something in which John suddenly had no interest.
Soon, the woman -- a casino hotel hostess or waitress, he presumed -- caught sight of John, too. She gave him a sly, knowing smirk. She knew what he saw in her ... and what he wanted from her, as well.
Fortunately for John, she was interested in showing him more of her. She glanced about for prying eyes and, seeing none, reached a hand slowly down to the lower hem of her micro-skirt. She hesitated, then lifted it to reveal the lower curvature of a young, firm buttock cheek.
John's lips spread in a pleased smile. His grin only widened when she lowered her hem, splayed her fingers for a moment, then made an inconspicuous gesture of a finger pointing upward. John knew what the combined gestures meant: Upstairs, five minutes.
"Excuse me, Thomas," John told his manager, giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder. "But ... I need to take a little nap before the event."
"But we were going to go over the talking points again with..."
The campaign chief gave up as his boss -- the front runner by thirty points -- headed away on a path that would take him past the woman. When he was close, he whispered to her, "Fourteen-oh-six."
Room 1406 was what only John and Thomas knew as the Spare Room. It wasn't the suite that the press and remaining staff knew as his room for his three days in The City. It was where he could get away from the campaign for a few hours of greatly needed peace and quiet ... or ... in this case, a few hours of energetic, sweaty, nasty-even sex ... with someone who wasn't his god fearing, conservative-in-bed wife.
