Warmer weather is coming, and you know what that means -- fewer clothes! Nude Day approaches, or at least the contest does, so time to get writing.

Clothing optional while writing.

National Nude Day (July 14)
themes: public nudity, exhibitionism, etc.
starts: June 20
closes: July 11
winners announced: July 18

Kicking around ideas, but this one is always the most difficult for me. I impose a set of guidelines on myself as to what is on theme while still maintaining a certain level of suspension of disbelief.

It's not easy.

These things are relentless it seems.

I have an idea, probably go in mature, but a little bit of stroker for me. Maybe I can keep it to three pages.

Ha ha ha !

Done. Reviewing it now. This is my least-favorite contest and I always think I won't get an idea for it. But when I do get an idea, I have to write it up right then so that I don't lose the idea and have to come up with one on demand.

I've got a few stories in the works. Time is more my problem than ideas for nude day. Being a nudist has a lot of advantages. :)

But as a nudist, don't you sometimes get irritated by the forced connection with sexiness that this contest pushes for? It's not that I don't like the contest topic because I don't like the concept of nudism; I don't like it because nudism falls ho hum short of sensuality for me. My best showing in the contest was last year with a story giving a scenario where being partially clothed was more arousing than being nude.

I have no problems with nudism and sexiness at all. Being nude and outdoors or even indoors is sexy to me. Nude day is just another good reason to get new people naked outdoors. And new people are always fun. Their reactions and feelings are what make the story truly sexy.

Most people tend to over think it as they do for earth day.

I think you're dead right on that one, Tx. I know I'm probably overthinking it because I'm trying to come up with a plausible way to put nudity into my story other than the convenient excuse of Nude Day.

Another angle from which I think the theme is lame. You get naked and fuck. There's no problem whatsoever is getting naked to fuck in a dirty story. So, instant qualification. No problem, no effort.

I'm surprised to hear a nudist admit that the sexiness of it is the attraction of it. Ones I talk to bend over backwards to say it isn't about getting laid.

That's my tripping point at the moment. I don't want the instant qualification. I want something unusual but still plausible.

I'll figure it out . . . .

Ah yes, the the Nude day tropes incest style

son/bro/dad see's mom/sis/daughter sun bathing nude and now has to have sex with them.

I am having a hard time deciding which cliche drives me to madness more in incest, the one mentioned above, the relative catching another masturbating or the beaten to death Halloween trope of "mom was wearing the same mask as her son's girlfriend and he did her instead!"

I won't be able to ponder this one until June 6. The next 5 weeks will be hell.

I can't quite see the light at the end of the tunnel yet.

This is always my favorite contest because I love the whole nudity theme.

I'm almost finished with an exhibition/voyeur story, featuring a college student who gets nude at an upscale party for lots of money.

I'm also working on a scifi/fantasy story featuring mind control and sorcery and the supernatural.

I'd also like to make a mother/son story if there's extra time.

Seeing I am not eligible I might go with something with limited popularity a CFNM humiliation party type theme.

Refresh my memory. Is it ok to write a "sequel" or a Part II to a story you've previously written?

My Nude Day story from last year badly needs a Part II or Chapter II. And if that is allowed, do you do a recap of Part I before you go into your story? Or would I include the Chapter I?

My other instinct is to go BDSM (surprise surprise) and a Nude Day story could fit nicely into my Master and Maeve series.

But I would really like motivation to continue on with my Nude Day story from last year. Thoughts?

Now you're trying to make whole cloth out of one sentence. Nothing is ever one way. The sexiness is part of the whole cloth and has very little to do with whether there is fucking or not.

As for the ones who tell you it ain't about getting laid, they are giving you the "official" line. Nudist get laid just like everyone else. They are just more discreet about it than others I might name.

I'd say yes to a sequel but no to a chapter. Nothing says you can't use the same characters in multiple stories, but if you take a previous one and use the same title, tacking on "Ch. 02," that would probably disqualify it from the contest. But a different title, a different situation, with the same characters would probably work.

You can submit a "spin off" from an older story, but you can't submit a direct sequel.

The way the rule on chapters and series is written, If you have to read the first one to understand the second then it's not allowed. You can use the same characters and setting but it has to be a full story of its own.

I know, clear as mud right. :D

Yeah, maybe "sequel" isn't the best term to use. But as long as both are stand-alone stories, there shouldn't be any problems.

So, let's say I write a Master and Maeve story ... the previous stories are:

Master and Maeve: A Night Out
Master and Maeve: The Hotel Lobby
Master and Maeve: The Hardware Store

They are the same characters, but in different situations. It is allowed, you think, to write a Master and Maeve: Training for Nude Day or some such?

Or maybe I'll get a new idea by June. I'm still trying to keep FAWCing!

My gut instinct is to say it wouldn't go through. Even though there's no delineation of chapters for each of the stories, they're still a series. But, I could be wrong. I suppose it depends on how the stories are grouped in your story profile. Are they grouped together as a "Master and Maeve" series?

ETA: I just checked and Lit has them listed as a series. That doesn't mean I'm right, but I suspect I probably am that another offering in the series wouldn't be accepted. I'd be happy to be wrong, though. ;)

You know, I'm not sure how they're grouped. I'll have to check the listing and see.

I have an unused Valentine's Day story that could be adapted ... why am I even thinking about this right now? One thing at a time, shea! :p

I think it would be allowed.

I directly asked Laurel if it was okay to submit a contest story featuring the same main character used in a previous story, but with a different female character.

It was okay.

The main thing is that the submitted story must be a complete, stand alone work.
