WRITING CHALLENGE REVIEW THREAD ~ MARCH 2014

Just a few little rules for this thread:-

• This thread is for comments and reviews only. Submissions go here!

• Please keep your comments focused on the pieces posted for the challenge running from 1st – 30th March 2014 only, this is not really intended to be a thread for conversation/flirting/mayhem and so on (Sorry to be a bore!). Writers should be able to find reviews/comments for their pieces without having to trawl through pages of banter (no matter how amusing/sexy it might be!) :)

Readers/Reviewers:- Please keep your comments and reviews polite and, wherever possible, positive. If you have constructive criticism or advice for writers please do give it but be polite about it! You don’t have to like everything you read but if you really don’t have anything nice to say about something then I would suggest you refrain from posting. And if all you want to say is you liked a piece and no more…that’s great too! We all know how writers like to be appreciated! ;)

Authors:- Please take constructive criticism as it is intended, as an attempt at improving possible flaws/problems/areas of confusion in your piece. They are not (hopefully!) personal attacks on you or your work.

• This is supposed to be a fun way to get to know new writers and potential partners, to exercise our writing brains, it’s not a competition, please keep that in mind!

• One more thing…suggestions for future prompts are very welcome and should be PM’d to me – Britwitch – as a link ideally. :)

Previous challenges and reviews can be found here.

Happy reading!

I have predominately been a lurker here, but I'm hoping that will change.

Vail and Fr33k, I have been reading quite a bit of each of your work recently and I admire both your styles. Brit... It goes without saying. I love your writing.

Hi Fun,

I very much hope you'll write more and more here!
I had to say that I loved your March challenge and found it very stimulating and erotic. I especially loved the subtle way you incorporated the prompts into your writing, they were incorporated seamlessly without breaking the sensuality of your writing.

Thank you for sharing,
Mari x :rose:

Thank you Mari. :rose:

I appreciate the feedback.

I am looking forward to exploring more aspects of writing erotica; hopefully in the near future. I have a few ideas rattling around in my brain, and of course there is next months challenge to look forward to. Erotica is a fairly new writing style for me.

You're very welcome ... *smiles* ... looking forward to hearing any ideas you may wish to share ... :rose:

Thanks so much for taking part!
I will be writing 'proper' reviews shortly but it's always awesome to see new faces popping up in the challenges! :D

Zeno: A prose poem ~ Vail

Is there anything you can't write? :rose: I loved how you took one of the prompts and gave us this captivating little insight into lives playing out a million light years away.
As always, brilliant!

Butterfly Effect ~ fr33k

If I've said it once...
You and your word choice kill me. There is such a fluid tone in everything you write, I would love to hear some of your pieces set to music.
You manage to write about epic ideas in the softest and most intimate of ways.
Loved it, freeky one!

Untitled ~ wideeyedone

A new face! Not unknown to me - might have been a fan for longer than I care to say ;) - but not someone we see enough of by far.
You captured the quiet desperation in your male lead that so many couples go through. It was sweet and sad and I know I'd love to read the rest of their story. :rose:

Untitled ~ havinfun50

Another new face! Yay! :D
Thanks again for taking part, I couldn't run these challenges without writers taking part so it always makes me stupidly excited to see new faces joining in the fun.
Yours was a romantic little vignette and you portrayed the closeness of your couple brilliantly, there was more to it than the charmingly written scene we witnessed. Well done, very well done!
Definitely hoping we'll see more from you!

<Blushes>
Thank you Brit. I've been a fan of your writing for some time. When I decided to finally emerge from the shadows, you writing challenge seemed like a natural first stop. I look forward to more of them.

Vail,

I just wanted to say that I stopped by to read your Zeno poem. I don't think I have a sufficient vocabulary to tell you how fantastic I thought it was.

Really. Incredible. I had to sit for a moment after I'd reread it for the third time and just stare blankly.

Thank you.

Britwitch - A Cup of Tea

Beautiful, heart-wrenching ... tragic, yet hopeful...

A wonderfully emotive creation, thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much, both for taking the time to read and for taking more time to comment.
The compliments in your comment are also very kind.

Brit... Wow - that was indeed moving. It truly captured the loss, while at the same time opening doors for a new beginning. I found the "little things" details to be particularly illustrative. I had a complete picture in my mind with just a few brush strokes, or should that be pen strokes, of information. I enjoyed reading it very much.

Thank you so much
It's always lovely to know people have enjoyed what you've written.

Thanks for reading it, I appreciate that.

Of course! :rose:

I'm ever so happy we've had lots of submissions this month and even happier people have stopped by here to leave a word or two for our writers. :D
Very very happy indeed!

Thank you to all those who've taken the time to comment and for those who've read and not left feedback...what are you waiting for...? ;)

Last Round ~ saysalice

I know this wasn't written for the purpose of comments and feedback but I have to, I'm sorry. :rose:

That was beautifully written, Alice, but then your pieces always are. There's a tone and a reality in your writing that stuns me every time. This time it was raw and real and I hate that you're having to go through what you are. But it was beautiful all the same.

Brit said everything I wanted to say. I agree completely. :rose:
