According to a statement from US Capitol Police provided to CNN, officers were called to a "dispute" between the intern and another individual in a vehicle near the US Capitol. Officers observed the unregistered ammunition in the back of the vehicle and arrested 20-year-old Scott M. Frantz around 3 p.m. ET, according to the report.

He was charged with possession of unregistered ammunition, which violates the District of Columbia's strict rules regarding possessing firearms and ammunition.

A law enforcement source told CNN that Frantz worked as an intern in the Republican senator's office. He was placed on leave from the senator's office following his arrest, according to a Cruz aide.

People keep whining about why don't we simply enforce existing gun laws, well here you go. The law was enforced.

"unregistered ammunition"?

Maybe we should register Wing Nuts? :)

Gun Laws are seldom enforced these days anywhere, just look at a muslim terrorist on an Army base killing people or a school shooter as proof, these two examples break several on the books gun laws.

No today Gun Control is enforced over any real gun laws and if you don't know the difference then your ignorant and must like gun control so your just a future crime victim.

Learn the difference and how the media brain washes you into being anti gun.

The DC example used at the start of this thread is a gun control not gun laws in action.

What?

Also, why did you randomly capitalize the phrase gun control?

How did the Capitol police know the ammunition was unregistered? Did each bullet have a code on it "saying I'm unregistered"?

Federal law says no person found guilty of a felony that has a sentence of greater than 11 months can not buy or have possession of a gun. If the felon's spouse owns a gun it has to be locked up so that the felon can not get to it. I have been told by felons that even if it were legal for them to own a gun they would buy one from the street if they planned on using it in the commission of a crime so that it could not be traced to them. Question: Why ban ownership of firearms to felons whose crime did not involve a weapon of any type or violence?

So that they don't sell them to the guys who want to commit crimes.

Like Obama & Holder’s “FAST and FURIOUS” Fuck Up?

RIP United States Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry!
Is that the guy Eric Holder shot? Did Eric obtain the gun illegally? Maybe he bought it at a gun show?

"Enforcing gun laws works"

The trouble is, it isn't enforced in places it should be enforced, like Chicago for instance.
