you people.
now go away-- shoo! you're distracting me from writing my Very Serious Poetry about The Yucky Love Stuff.
Lol, well I already like your humor, I hope it makes an appearance in your poetry.
not a chance, sister. it's all rending of garments and gnashing of teeth. this is LOVE we're talking about!
Really? So THAT's what it's all about. Damn. Need to toss my night guard and buy cheaper clothes!
A small scribble, off the top of my bedhead, first thing in the morning.
The Misery of Distance
I am so lonely for
His arms around me
His kisses on my lips
His breath on my shoulder
His whispers in my ear
I can almost feel him
Almost taste him
Almost smell him
Almost hear him
...almost.
Nice, Fairlight. Like the way the title sets up the narrative.
Very musical; not sure I'd add the last "almost." Seems unnecessary.
It might be fun to stretch the imagery here: a café au chocolat in some bistro on the Left Bank in Paris perhaps, not sure if he's going to come?
you people.

lovin' the starfish in your eyes phrase - very visual, unique (to this reader, anyway) and perfect for the underwater themeMy prison is a watery grave of tears and you put me here with your tender attentions and your soft caresses and your sweet, sweet words.
Like a cedar-scented siren, you held me in your arms and sang my heart a lullaby, and I didn't see the cage closing round me for the starfish in my eyes.
Then you slipped away from me and through the bars and left me here to drown in my passion and my grief.
