Death Of Tea Party?

I think those who make more have been carrying those who make less for many many years.......that is how the entitlements have been paid for. If it were not for those who make more.....actually those who work at all, then the entitlements would not be funded...at all. All taxes take care of that, no matter what the tax rate is.
So which is it? The rich pay for entitlements or everyone via the taxes they pay?
As far as Obamacare....if it was already working, then why overhaul the entire thing, make it a "tax" and mandate that every single person in the US MUST buy into it......regardless of the freedom not to in this country?

Not every single person MUST buy into it, especially if you already have insurance. And it's being done because millions are not being able to get health care, get insurance, and afford to see a doc. It should not just be someone who is privileged that should be able to afford it, or someone in a higher bracket.

I never expected that much bad losers in the US of A.

People vote for what they think it's best for their country. And the most of them think, it's not Romney. And I can only second this vote, from what I know about it.

What should people respect? They respected the vote of "W", though they could imagine to what it would lead to. Sue them for not sharing your point of view, if it's their ideology or the things they know about the topic.

But don't talk about respect, because the reps lost a lot of voters due to lack of respect to people. The "47%" wasn't a liberal thing, and it was abusing in any way you can imagine. It's embarassing how you don't get that.

47% .....was he wrong? Only that he got that 47% plus 4 % more.

I wasn't specifically speaking of obama....I was really speaking more of the "elected" in general...all of them. I think that most of them truly have no idea how to truly work together and govern.......without their own "re-election" getting in the way.

Of course they do. Social Security is the most familiar entitlement, and it's not funded by "the rich;" it's a payroll tax that falls equally on every working person below a certain level of income.

Those that pay into Social Security, deserve to be able to have it when they retire (which will not happen soon).......

Not speaking of that.....speaking of welfare, food stamps, etc.

Those who work, pay for entitlements, regardless of their income level.

Every single person WILL have to buy into it when the insurance companies are no longer able to sustain themselves.

Perhaps a separate insurance for those who want to purchase a "government" healthcare......which is pretty much what we have already (Medicaid)....except now, they will have to pay for it.

It will be the same, only costing those with less....more.

Iggy is best.

So we should tell old people to stop taking it for the good of their children, right?:cool:

While we all fuss about the "fiscal cliff" a trillion bucks worth of crushing Obama care taxes are coming down on America's head tomorrow.

What form do these taxes take, exactly? Not income -- expiration of the Bush income-tax cuts has nothing to do with Obamacare. Payroll?

Interesting that the total number of votes cast for the presidential election in 2012 was 126,226,713. According to the US Census popclock there are 315089258 as of 12/31. Obama received roughly 65M votes. Say that even 100,000,000 of these are underage to vote that leaves 215,089,258. Obama's "mandate" is about 31% or so. Romney's would have been somewhere around 25% or so.

Neither really has a mandate....there is around 44% of the people in the US who probably did not vote.

I would think that both sides might be more willing to stop with their own agendas and figure out what is best for the WHOLE country....just a thought.

Mandates are NOT millions fewer votes than you got in 2008. Obama won the election NOT the hearts & minds of America. Obama is like the Harlem Globetrotters, he looks better than he is because the GOP is so inept.

People always act on their interests.

You also didn't think Obama had a mandate after the 2008 election when he got more votes than any candidate in history by a large margin and the rest of his party swept into power in sizable numbers. You're not really an honest person when it comes to these things.

I would agree.....an election won is not winning the hearts and minds of people.

People do act on their own interests. In my opinion, it is rather a fruitless effort to try and get those in Washington to agree on anything that will actually benefit this country.

Perhaps we have just finally come to a very large block in the road. The division in views about how this country should move forward is larger than it has ever been. No matter who is in the WH or who has a majority in Congress.....both sides spend their time blaming the other and nothing gets done (nothing of substance).

Perhaps one day...someone....and it doesn't matter which party they come from, will step up and have the fortitude to truly look at the problems within this country and make decisions based on real solutions instead of a "next election". Maybe scratching everything and starting over and only funding things which truly matter (such as making sure all citizens have true and honest ways of making a living, having a roof over their heads and fed)....start there.

Perhaps they will abandon all pet projects such as green spaces, roads that lead only a certain business, things that benefit only one particular area in one particular city...etc.... leave those things until a handle can be gotten on the truly important things in this country.

Praying for one person...just one.....to want to really lead this country and help the citizens.

He did ....at that time. People either voted for change, or voted because he was black. The change did happen and in 2010 people voted for change again.

Nothing happened after that....the economy didn't approve and people voted for status quo in 2012.

There is not a single person in DC that is capable of fixing the problems this country has now. It is all about personal greed and power...period.

Have you ever noticed all the left nutjobs here are trolls and racists? Take the trolls replying to vettemans thread here for example.
