New character, what do you think?

This is a new digital character I'm working on. Her name is Kelly. Sort of a sexy tomboy. Lots of freckles. Looks rather plain with clothes on, but certainly more appealing when they come off. Soft features, cute expressions, fun hair, big eyes.

What do you think?

Cute...

Can't see the color of her eyes but with that red hair, I'd make them green.

Very nice work.

Really like her especially the freckles.

Very appealing, what programs do you use to draw these?

Thanks for the comment!

Most of the images I post here are not drawings or photos. They are 3d renders. I use a program called Daz Studio. You can learn more about it here: http://www.daz3d.com

Thanks. A lot of the 3d models I use have skin that is a little to clear and perfect. I started using more freckles in several of my characters which I think make them look more realistic, and quite frankly much cuter.

Well, it's not a hard program to use, but of course there is a learning curve. And while you don't need drawing skills, you still need visual skills since you will be in control of the lighting, setting, props, character design etc.

There are tons of videos and tutorials online at the daz3d.com site and on you tube. Since it's a free program, you might want to download it, check it out and see if it's for you. I've been using it for ten years and enjoy it.

It's fullly functional. However it comes with just a few basic 3d models. Obviously to create more extensive scenes you need to purchase more models. However there are also thousands of free 3d models online, and there are always models on sale often up to 70% off. So if you shop around carefully you can build a 3d model library at reasonable cost.

You just need to spend some time in the various sections of the site to get a feeling for the program, images made using it, models, techniques, etc. Like I said, it takes time to learn, but with any program some people pick it up quickly, others pull their hair out.

Good luck!

I like it, but the hair rubs me the wrong way somehow. I don't know. If I had to guess, I'd say that the edges of her hairstyle are too defined, which gives me an impression as if it's made of plastic, or at the very least - very dirty or oiled up hair.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just nitpicking.

Otherwise it's great, did you make the model yourself?

I didn't like the hair either and changed it to another style. No, I don't create the models. However I mix and match various elements from several models to arrive at a final version I like.

I think your character creation is awesome!

You are one talented individual and I'd love to see more of your "sexy tomboy". I am glad to see that you're re-doing her eyes green, I think that was a great suggestion and would also love to see her after you make the changes...well done!
