Years ago MichChick98 (Miss you :rose:) started the original thread. I figured with all the new blood in the place we might have fun with this again

The object of the game is to list ten songs and artists (if possible) that fit the criteria of the previous poster.

For instance, Songs that start with the letter "P" or songs that have a color in them, etc.

To prevent double postings we learned to claim the next ie. respond with "I got this one" and then fill in the songs as soon as you can by editing your post.

Then you get to pick the next challenge! Have fun!

I'll start with songs that begin with the letter "P"

Pink - Aerosmith
Put Me on Top - Aimee Mann

On second thoughts, that's probably a bit too narrow. Let's just make it "famous cover versions".

Hey Bramblethorn! Oh no, I like this challenge - I just need some time as I'm not free for a while.

Anybody else feel free to do the newer - famous covers one but I like the restriction!

  1. "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor
  2. "I Love Rock n' Roll" by Joan Jett
  3. "Hound Dog" by Elvis
  4. "I Fought the Law" by The Clash
  5. "It's My Life" by No Doubt
  6. "Respect" by Aretha Franklin
  7. "Downtown Train" by Rod Stewart
  8. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper

How about 10 songs with some form of "crying" in the title?

“Pretty Woman” – Van Halen covering Roy Orbison
“You Can’t Hurry Love” – Phil Collins covering Diana Ross and the Supremes

“Blinded by the Light” – I think Manfred Mann covered Bruce Springsteen (but it might be the other way around)
In case I’m wrong
“Go Now” – Paul McCartney and Wings covering the Moody Blues

For a bonus eleventh (and I love this band) Led Zeppelin for pretty much everything they “wrote”

Staying with Com's challenge: How about 10 songs with some form of "crying" in the title?

Or Soft Cell's cover of Tainted Love! But it's all good.

I'll try the Crying challenge.

I might have a go at that one too, but I'll wait for your answers first.

Sorry, legerdemer: it didn't occur to me although I have heard "Hurt" and I do indeed love it for it's lyrics and Cash's emotion singing it.

New challenge: ten songs with a woman's name in the title...

There were a few I was hoping to see, like these:

"Amanda" by Boston
"Sara" by Starship
"Donna" by Richie Valens
"Madaline" by Winger

Regarding the "Blue" one, what about this one:

"Blue Bayou" by Crystal Gale (centerpiece of Denzel's "Man on Fire")

I sure liked a # of the "crying" entries. Here's another:

"Cryin'" by Vixen--one of the most underrated rock bands of the time. They kept up with the big boys of rock then--and they were all girls (the only real reason to  the "big hair" days with them singing)! :)
