Literotica Authors and Their Books (For Literotica Authors ONLY)

Thanks Karen. I feel like the robot in Short Circuit right now.. wanting to turn doughnuts int he middle of the street and yell:

Wicked Velvet

My novella "The Experiment", which first posted to Literotica, is being serialized on WickedVelvet.com

http://www.wickedvelvet.com/home.html

Unfortunately it's a pay site, so you can't see it without joining, but it's up there, typos and all (God! How did I miss those?)\

They're aggressively looking for more mateial too. All you've got to show them is an outline and two chapters, so if you're looking to get published, they might be a good place to start. The nice thing is that you can retain the rights after the story runs, or you can let them publish it as an e-book.

Way Cool, Dr.!!

If you're in need of a nice little program to help you work, get Microsoft Works. If you can't afford that, go find a small program.. it's a DonationWare program called Rough Draft. It's specifically designed for people who write.

Works automatically catches most of the spelling goofs. You just have to keep an eye out for the odd word that might be spelled right.. but is the wrong thing for the sentence you have it in. :)

Heh. My erotic fan fiction is good for turning people on, but that's about it. However, I do have the Kiefer Collection compiled into one story called Shaman's Moon. It's claimed, but not contracted, by Triskelion Publishing. I had to change some descriptions around and add some more really good sexy parts. But my editor wanted it for their Sister O line, which is the erotic fiction area.

I like to think that Literotica.com has been my testing grounds, someplace where I can toss an idea out, or post a story, just to see how well it will run.

Keep on Writing, Dr. And remember, Everything you write that gets published? Looks good on a resume.

:D

The bar starts to become that more acceptable soft-focus way after a few drinks, where things seem to slow down and people are happy enough just to be each other's company and it's good to talk shit. And now I decide that I quite fancy Rab. It's not been an instant thing, it's been a kind of slow built-up. There's something clean and Caledonian about him, noble and Celtic. An almost puritanical stoicism that you don't really find with men his age in England, certainly not in Reading. But they do go on, those Scots: arguing, discussing and debating in a way that only the leisured and metropolitan media classes in England tend to do. - Fuck all these silly arguments, I tell them glandly. - I told you both a naughty secret earlier. Don't you have any naughty secrets, Luren?

Published Story

Hi. I'm new to this site, so I hope I'm doing this right and not violating anything. This is the only link I have to the book which holds my latest published story.

Heat Wave: Sizzling Sex Stories

I thought it was pretty cool that the name of my story, "Heat Wave", turned out to be the name of the book!

Don't burn yourself! These scorchingly sexy tales will make you forget about the cold, dreary weather and warm up real fast as they transport you to beaches and tropical locales where all there is to do is relax and enjoy yourself. These stories of hot summer sex do their job and then some, and certainly made me hot all over!

Not much on offer here to warrant five stars, let alone one. As usual, Tyler has put out yet another book of monotonous sex stories that all sound exactly the same. Nowhere near as good as the anthology series which this so blatantly copies.

This is a red-hot collection of short stories! My favorites were Helena Settimana's "Highway 69" about a motorcycle chick and her outdoorsman, Sage Vivant's "The Yacht" about three women on vacation with three hunky sailor boys (with a fantastic on-deck scene! You could practically smell the suntan oil), the almost indescent "Tan Lines" by Thomas S. Roche featuring a delicious outdoor escapade, and "In Dependence Day" by Savannah Stephens Smith featuring a really hot dom/sub relationship. All of the stories sizzle. If you can't go on a vacation right now -- get this book instead!

A guy with a name like Melvis G has to know what he's talking about.

Terry brightens up a bit, re-engaging as Simon gets down to the brass tacks of sex. - The big problem we have is anal. Simon turns to Mel and me. - Or rather, the big problem you lassies have.

His cold look, accompanied by that word, makes my innards freeze. - I don't do that, I tell him.

Mel's shaking her head as well and speaks up for the first time today. - No way will ah dae that. She catches Terry looking at her, and she goes a bit bashful and kicks his foot. - No oan the camera but, Terry!

Simon's face is screwed up. - Mmm . . . we need to talk about this. You see, I think it's essential these days. I mean, personally, it doesn't really do much for me, but the thing is, we live in an anal society.

Rab rolls his eyes and Terry nods in emphatic support.

- I mean, think about it, Simon waxes on, - you have rednecks in hick towns, telling us aliens have come all the way from another galaxy just to stick a probe up their sweaty arseholes . . . modern porn, the Zanes, the Blacks, it's got all that triple-penetration circus stuff in it now. Look at Ben Dover's videos. Fit young birds always get it up the arse these days.

- Fucking brilliant videos, Terry adds sagely.

Simon nods in impatient compliance. - The point is that in the old days if a bird got fucked up the arse in a video, it was odds-on that she was a stretch-marked old boiler, dripping with cellulite and fit for the knacker's yard. Now that's all changed. For any young lassie serious about being a pron star, taking it up the shitter is almost obligatory.

- Not for me, I say quietly, and only Simon's heard this but he chooses not to acknowledge it. So I amplify my voice and my concerns. - A lot of women don't do anal. Some only do girl-ongirl. We're not making a mucky men's porn movie. I thought we were going to try and be innovative with non-sexist dialogues and themes. What happened to that? Was it all destroyed by one sniggering, smutty little boys' weekend in Amsterdam?

- No. We are being innovative, Simon insists, - but we have to cover all bases and that includes anal. It's not real, Nikki, it's only acting.

No, it is real. It has to be real. Getting fucked is getting fucked, and it's one of the few things left in our lives that is real, that is unconstructed.

- Aye, Rab says, unwittingly being Simon's stooge, - we have to remember that it's the performance of sex, not real sex, and it's just freak-show stuff. I mean, who really has triple penetration in their sex life?

- Jist you n yir poofy mates fae the college, Terry says.

Way to go, LuciousBi!

Keep the good times rollin, and the words flowin and you'll get there! I just got my second royalty check with the Two books for sale on it.

*sigh* Poseidon's Heart had 0 sales last month.... However I made $23 and some change because 12 Shadow Demon books got sold! Whee. Seems I'm making the checks that actually are that last bit of help needed to pay the bills.

I'm working on a Time Travel Barbarian Romance called Majestic Lion and I have a story idea ready to write called Ares in Chains... The sequel to Poseidon's Heart. hehehe.

Ares gets his comeuppance. Yeah Baby...

Triskelion Publishing is an Electronic Publisher.. E-Books. One of their lines is straight Erotic publishing. This publisher is a little over a year old. Fairly new, yet it's gotten a LOT of business from people who can't find another venue for their work.

One of their book genres is Erotica. The line is called the Sister O line.

Head for http://www.triskelionpublishing.com if you're interested... I think they have a contact E-Mail there. Tell them that Diane Taylor sent you. :D

iUniverse is as good or as bad as you make it. They produce books out of manuscripts, first and foremost. The books they produce are of good quality, and they also create e-books. They make these books available through Amazon, B&N, and others. For all this, they charge a reasonable price.

But don't fool yourself into thinking they are a traditional publisher. They aren't. For an extra fee they'll proofread your manuscript, and for another extra fee they'll even give you editorial feedback. For a really big fee they'll even help you market your book. Remember, though, these are things that traditional publishers pay you for.

In the end, you and only you are responsible for the quality of book that you get out of iUniverse. Writing a good book isn't enough. You have to learn to edit, and to proofread, unless you want to part with a lot of money. And you have to promote your book yourself.

I've been really happy with iUniverse. I also know what they are and what they do, as well as what they aren't and what they don't do.
