The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 03: Come On In

Uh... Where did the morning go? It was here a few minutes ago. (More like an hour and 40 minutes ago)

That's what happens when you get your head into a story and it starts to flow and flow and flow. I love it when it happens but time disappears so fast. So I guess I'll freshen the coffee up for the afternoon crowd and see what I can catch for lunch.

HM is grinning at me as she reads over my shoulder. I think the lunch problem may have solved itself. :D

Ah. Coffee

Well, my PC seems to be working more or less right.
A celebratory cup of tea. The Coffee can be deferred, I think.

Welcome to Bitch and Moanday for you working peeps. :D

The coffee is ready, hot and black. It should lift those eyes lids and even make some toes clench.

Donuts are the order for breakfast today. Help yourself but save HP a chocolate or two.

Ah, someone has left me a choccy. How kind.
We've had bright sunshine today; I got some good pictures !

But coffee is the thing at present.

Moanday is right. Working nights and sleeping days, my coffee cycle is disrupted. Oh well, time to ingest caffeine, food and more caffeine and head off in.

My wife works those night shifts, and rarely anything else. It's hard to shift back and forth, so she doesn't. There's been an on-going panic at the hospital about the (apparently anonymous) inspections coming. There's always rumors, then they expire and there are new rumors.

It reminds me of the old classic porn flick "Night Shift Nurses," who are all concerned about the upcoming inspection. It's been a while, but as I recall, they all soil their uniforms (one way or another) and send them off to the laundry. They're working in underwear. Nurses all wear teddy's, garter belts and black nylons under their uniforms, right?

The janitor lays them all, and at the end it turns out that the janitor is the inspector. They pass inspection.

It was a nice day today. Cooler and more Fall like that it has been. I spent a lot of the day out in the shop. Finishing touches on a few projects and a lot of clean up. Sawdust is almost as bad as sand for getting into the wrong places.

Fresh coffee for the late evening crew. I think I'll do a little writing before bedtime.

As long as it's coming from real wood instead of manufactured products, then I have no problem at all with being dowsed in sawdust. Sweat and sawdust create the scent of a happy man.

The way HM & HG act in the shop sometimes makes me think it might also be an aphrodisiac. Two part marine epoxy on the other hand, not so much.

Today (Sept 24) is F. Scott Fitzgerald's birthday. I salute him, both for being one of my most influential writers, and for taking care of his crazy (and talented) wife as long as he could.

Glue, MDF, chipboard -- even plywood -- not so much.

I've only read The Great Gatsby but it's on my list to read more of his work. I periodically come across a quote from him and swoon, just a bit.

I think I read all but one of his novels and some of his short-story collections while I was in high school. The thing that was always a little odd about him was that his text was very plain. Exclamation marks were not to be found. You had to find the emotion in the characters and their words.

There was some story (which I haven't been able to find since) where in the opening scene the main character stood in the rain wearing a well-fitted overcoat, yellow gloves, and carrying a small brief case. I've had that image in my mind since.

For several years I volunteered to greet people as they came to a downtown theater for ballet performances. I took tickets, but (to me) it was the greeting that was most important. I wore a tuxedo, and tried to change the outfit at least a little every time.

The tuxedo itself had a huge effect on people. Women I didn't know (especially women near my age) would trail their hands across my chest as they passed by. Little girls in fairy costumes would stand open-mouthed and stare.

The biggest effect I ever had came from buying a standard pair of white dress gloves and dying them bright yellow, like the character in the Fitzgerald story. I could motion people to a door, their eyes would catch the gloves, and there'd be no questions -- just more hands on my arms and my chest as women walked by.

And don't forget the stilettos, all nurses wear stilettos and one glimpse of a patients dick is enough to send them into heat and instil enough lust that a mating frenzy ensues. Rotflmao.

My favourite is Berenice Bobs Her Hair.

I knew it had to be true!

I need to upgrade the hospitals and clinics I visit. All I ever see is oversized scrubs and tennis shoes. Although the bathroom in the Vampire section of the VA clinic has shown some promise. Once there was a very large, very lacy purple bra hanging on the back of the door. Another time there was a silky dark green thong hanging on the same door.

It does make one wonder what is under those scrubs. Or were they left by patients? But it is the men's bathroom so....

Yep, I've seen it with my own eyes. Quick story, cos its funny.

A patient had it bad for one for one of the nursing officers, in his defence she was hot, and had a very sex Irish accent (sue me IDGAF) he was in with a broken leg (femur if memory serves) so this lad always got a woodie when she turned up. One day she say "do ya want me to do something about that?" nodding at his tent. Lad nods, unable to believe he's going to get his dream girl right here in the hospital. She smiles, pulls down the sheets, whips out a tongue depressor and snaps it right on the end of his cock. We all laughed and oddly he went right off her, probably ran a mile from every Irish girl there after.

The lesson being two fold, one be nice to nurses, two don't trust them an inch LOL

Is there some ibuprofen to take with the coffee? I guess I must have slept with my head at a wrong angle; my neck hurts with some of the movements I make (very randomly--I haven't figured out what I can and what I can't do yet), and all of our painkillers seem to have left the building.

If I can't find anything here, I might better go to the pharmacy while I still can. I rarely take any drugs, but know from experience that ignoring this pain is not an option.

1] Yes, I believe so. Have a look in the small cupboard. (or ask Chloe).
2] As this has happened to me, I suggest you check out your pillow.

We had a ground frost last night.
But the sunshine this morning will brighten things up, I reckon.

~And now for a
Coffee.

It worked fine for me. It took me straight to your story list. Now, if you want to get a little fancier, use the little world/chair icon at the top of the box. Paste your link in there on top of the Http part and click OK. Type in whatever your want it to say in the highlighted section. (My Stories) Stacey's Stuff) (Crap I warned you about) (Anything You Want) You can check it out in preview mode.

HP, I don't have a clue why I'm awake so early but I guess it was because you need fresh coffee. Or I had to pee, or I was thirsty, or even a little hungry. Or a combination of all those.

Thank you, Kindly, Sir.

Another coffee will go down a treat. :)

We're still a long way from frost, but right now the Weather Service is predicting snow tonight for the mountains a little north of here and above 9500 feet. Here, we might get a little rain.

We're expecting cloudy /Rain; and +9C, according to the BBC Weather thingy.

Meantime, Coffee, I think
