Whatever happens in the barn is told from the POVs of animals housed there, so it's a Thurberian or Orwellian sardonic / ironic metaphor. I envisage something spun from the Jack B. Quick tales in Alan Moore's TOMORROW STORIES comix crossed with ANIMAL FARM and THE UNICORN IN THE GARDEN.
