High fantasy story idea:
Chosen one narratives don’t normally interest me unless they’re subverted. So for this idea, what if there was a child of prophecy...but the only thing the seers knew was who the father would be? They don’t know what gender or race the hero will be, they just know whoever they side with will be invincible.
What the seers do know though is who the child’s father will be. The guy is no one special but once the prophecy is made, everyone wants him. Suddenly this nobody has whole armies tracking him down, goddesses trying to seduce him, and the forces of evil trying to capture or kill him. Of course, he can’t just have a bunch of kids as only his first born will be the child of prophecy.
So now, a guy who wished to have a little more sex is constantly besieged by women, hoping become the mother of his child and lead their side to victory.
