True Liberals: Join Me and Walk Away!

You're the one saying it's suspicious if a gay man dares to step outside the assumed roles you have for him, which apparently requires him to be a Democrat.

Point out where I've posted that. Where have I posted a damn thing about gay men on this thread? Again, are you drunk?

The only payoff of liberals leaving the Democratic Party is a watering down of the Democratic Party and leaving liberals wandering around in the wilderness without an organization. Think real hard on who benefits from that. And then think why the source of these reports is Fox News. Can I hear a Duh?

And then, back up your outrageous charge that I have connected any of this to gay men.

And, once again, are you drunk?

What in the hell does any of this have to do with homophobia? You're being homophobic even to bring it into play and tell me or anyone else what a gay man should be doing--about anything.

Pray tell, what stereotype have have I laid out for anyone? Are you drunk?

The WalkAway campaign is just an attempt to pry liberals away from the Democratic Party--to do what? favor Trump? That's very Russian in plan.

Did you actually watch the video to which the OP provides the link?

The founder of #WalkAway is gay. It appears from the first post of yours to which I responded that this is the reason that you suspect #WalkAway is a Russian plot, because you assume every homosexual should be a Democrat. That's bigotry.

As for Fox News, again, the OP's link is to YouTube and does not appear to have anything to do with Fox.

Please restrain posting until you actually have the facts straight. Thank you.

Really?

Seriously, that is about the most homophobic attitude I've seen in a while!

How could a gay man actually think for himself and choose a path other than the stereotype you have for him?!

Thus, to your bigoted mind, it could only be a Russian plot!

homophobia???

Your weed is better than mine, where'd ya get it?

Probably.

Bullshit. His being gay has nothing to do with the issue except for those, apparently like you, who highlight his being gay. That you make the connection and attack me for it makes you homophobic. I didn't make any such connection, and you have failed to show that I did.

I think you're the one who should get her facts straight and her prejudices in line. And maybe stay off the sauce.

I see this movement as having the effect of crippling the Democratic Party by tearing out one of its key elements and leaving the party crippled and the liberals who left bereft of a power base and organization. It is classic Russian propaganda plan. Apparently you haven't noticed that the Russians, with the help of such as Fox News and other alt-right sources, have been playing this little interference game for some time now.

And I reject your effort to connect it to "gay" as opposed to "liberal" and your homophobic attack on me on this thread. This was YOUR attack on me and your homophobic assumptions.

So your theory is that "the Russians" somehow convinced a New York hairstylist to create this video and post it on YouTube as part of an elaborate plot to damage the Democratic Party?

Is that it? I just want to make sure I understand.

No, my view is that the values this guy was upholding were liberal values, not just gay values, and I give anyone a horselaugh who seriously thinks that leaving the Democratic Party is what gets these values affirmed. I've posted several times now, EmpressJosephine, the effect of liberals (and/or gays, since you choose to highlight this--I haven't) leaving the Democratic Party is that the Democratic Party will be weakened and the liberals will be left wandering in the wilderness. And, yes, I think these are Russian and alt-right Republican goals and that the alt-right media has latched on to promoting this idea. And again, you've been perpetually drunk if you haven't seen the Russians messing around with issues like this.

And since you are not going to apologize for attacking me for what I didn't post, you can piss off and go back to your booze.

So you think Brandon Straka is sincere in his original video?

I ask, because that was not what you originally seemed to say.

You called it "Faux Views" and "Russian spam."

Ah, yes. Faux Views. Nods knowingly.

As I posted earlier, this has all the trappings of a Russian spam.

Just stop your nonsense.

The promotion of this idea is by the Russians and Faux Views. The movement itself is just naïve and misguided without much thought into where it leads.

This was a call to "true liberals" not gays. You put that spin on it yourself--just because you saw a gay on the video. How very suburban "enlightened" housewife of you.

And now, you're not going to apologize for attacking me for what I didn't post, so just stop this crap.

I would appologize if I was wrong. You have not convinced me that my original estimation of your bigotry was incorrect. The fact that you are now looking to avoid direct questions is indicative of it.

In fact, come to think of it, what are you suggesting about the OP, Cerise_Buss? If "promotion of this idea is by the Russians and Faux Views," then are you saying she is Russian or with Fox News? Do you think it possible and legitimate for a gay woman like her to not be a Democrat and to believe the views she expressed in her post?

Today's "Liberals" are anything but liberal in its true sense. They are intolerant oppressors of free expression who see the world not through the lens of humanity's equality, but through the gender and racial politics of victimization.

You shouldn't walk away from somewhere, unless you have a better destination. Is there a better option than the Democrats? Which alternatives does this 'movement' propose?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend; who will benefit from weakening the Democrats?

The points, mentioned in the video, seem to be extreme reactions on Republican points of view; people have issues with Republican viewpoints, and overreact.

I think that most of the points mentioned in this video, are valid points. I also think that most Democrats agree that some/most of them are valid; perhaps begrudgingly, being afraid to turn against their 'people'. I don't think all of them are average Democratic viewpoints. (you can probably point out one or two examples where I'm 'wrong', but that doesn't change my general point).

What the video doesn't show, are the original Republican viewpoints that cause the excessive counter-reactions. I think it is important to include them into the discussion, consider their importance and if they are really viewpoints of the average Republicans, and then decide which side you're on.
Great points.

That was exactly what bothered me about his video.
He made valid criticisms and good points, but there is no mention of the destination.
He just let it hang there. "Walk away, because Democrats suck ." But where to?

Far more reasons to walk away from the R's.

EmpressJo, clueless on how insulting she has been, is not safely on ignore.

First off you made a type mister pro editor, second of all everyone here and the AH knows you never ignore anyone, your narcissism will not allow you to miss someone talking about you.

I've been watching a lot if the WA vids, the original is excellent, the guy's a hell of a speaker and is voicing what far more people than the dems want to admit are feeling these days.

Someone should direct the WA crowd here to the GB where they can find an inexhaustible amount of examples of the pure hate of the left and their bullying tactics.

he doesn't say where, but some of the videos from other people are pro trump or at least pro conservative.

I guess its the only place to walk to. I have slim hopes this is the type of movement that could get a moderate/independent party off the ground, but I doubt the right or left would ever give it a chance to get that far.

We'll know if the movement gets huge because that's when twitter, you tube and other left skewed outlets start banning the videos

Everybody is interested in American and EU Politics. Like it or not, the politics of the superpowers have far more important implications on other countries, than their own regional politics.'

As an outsider, I view your guys politics from a different vantage point.
And I often struggle to understand why Americans are so irreversibly split between the Left versus the Right.

I feel a bit awkward and self-conscious right now,
because I'm aware that I often meddle too much into American politics.

But that particular video peaked my interest and intrigued me.
Because, while I have no doubt that 99% of the people who posted after the guy genuinely felt that way,
there was something that felt staged about that video.

First of all, the guy was too good looking and articulate, as if he had been hand picked. Then elaborating on what RubenR observed - the lack of finality or a plan ("Walk away, but where?") smelled like propaganda.

Are you o.k with Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping, and their plan for a new world order? Are you comfortable that you and your loved ones will thrive in the near
future?

I'm confused. From the vantage point of Economics and foreign policies, which are most important to me:
All I know that the world has turned to shit and has become gradually impoverished over the last decades, especially since 2008.

I struggle to see how that was either the fault of Republicans or Democrats. They keep pointing fingers at each other saying "During our rule it was and will be economic Paradise, during your rule - disaster".
I listen to people on both sides and they all bring compelling arguments for their cause.

Plus all these political terminologies are confusing. People in political forums use the same teems but mean different things.

Let's see. Did I suggest on this thread that some of the WalkAway campaigning may be coming out of an apartment in Moscow? Why, yes I did. ;)

Here's another interesting thing. And please don't go paranoid on me again, claiming that I'm only saying it because I'm a racist Trumpster:

I browsed over the weekend through RT, and most of the UK and US shows that they sponsor -Chris Hedges, renegade.inc- promote socialist and anti-corporatist (EU or American)values.
So weird and fascinating, since the Russians also tried to prop up Trump.

It may be boosted by bots, I do not question that, but what about the origin of this video? As I have indicated before, I do think the video raises several valid points, and dealing with them may improve the Democrats.

Yes, but they are given as points from the liberal view, not just from a gay view.

That said, I'd keep an eye and open mind on this whole thing. It doesn't have to be a Russian-instigated issue to be exploited by the Russian disunity attack on the United States, but then again it could be. I'd keep an eye on this guy's background and where he goes/what he does from here. Because I gotta tell you, this is a really naïve view of how to improve one's lot and clout in the political spectrum on the basis of what he says he supports. This doesn't pass the sniff test yet--at least by me.

And "WalkAway" isn't about improving the Democratic Party in any way. It's about weakening it by taking people and issues away from it. And, now, who would want that? Let's think hard.

It makes no difference if he is a Russian/GOP bot or just some moron, his arguments have no merit since he gives no alternative. I hate the D's almost as much as I hate the R's but with shithead in office, the D's are the only game in town. What pisses me off about shithead is that he is causing me to support Ds.
