what do you hear right now?

there was a thread like this a while back, but i can't find it so i'm starting a new one.

what's your background noise right now? and what effect does it have on you?

i can hear birds chirping and a cock crowing. occasionally i can hear a plane, but i only notice them when i really focus on my surrounding. the birds give me the illusion it's spring outside :D
 
I heard a mourning dove yesterday and thought that it might mean a harbinger of spring!

At the moment, I've got my cat's snoring (which is cute and relaxing) and the fridge hum to listen to. Thinking of putting on some NPR though...
 
my dog snuffling around, his claws clicking on the hardwood, his tags jingling as he walks; the hum of computers (and that high-pitched tinitis-y noise they make); and traffic noise

I used to hear birds....
 
Children arguing, tv-news-weather reports on the snow, dog scratching at the back door to go outside(but as soon as she is out she wants back in).
 
Lots of clocks ticking and my cats purring, comforting sounds for me :)

I hear the washing machine.....my typing on the keyboard...and a car outside.
 
In Munky's Jungle I can hear the laughter of a Kookaburra and the distant scream of a Wild Clitorus.
 
closed the window, so all i hear now is a clock ticking. and the symbolism of it makes me very not happy
 
birds outside my window at the feeder, and the whir of the fan in my computer.
 
Scrapping of shovels and my ever present music on shuffle.
 
The quiet of a sleeping household, the ticking of the clock, and my fingers on the keyboard.

I hear quiet.... and the dryer. Kids & dogs are out side and I am thinking about locking them out there. :cool:
