well it's the "monster" as we affectionately call our bundle of sheer energy coupled with my husband's on-going medical problems that have put him on 30 pills a day for a month that leave him absolutely drained.

God i need to buy a vibrator!

Here you go. Great company, and they can overnight express!! :D

thanks for your advice guys!

i was discussing this with a friend of mine and she said that she got a rush out of hitting guys there and once squeeze her brother for a minute  is she for real?!

Different strokes for different folks.

I've seen a few movies of women kicking or stomping on men in the indicated area (ow! )

I guess for every possible fetish there is someone who has it ...

depo

I just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in about Depo shots. It took me 1&1/2 years to get pregnant again after stopping the shots. My cycles never did get straight. I have 3 girls(ages 5, 3, and 11 mos) and as you can see by the ages it took awhile to get pregnant again. I took the shot once between each of them. It was the "you need to have a birth control plan before leaving the hospital" speech from the doctor each time that resulted in me saying "well, give me the shot". Then I would not have any birth control afterwards. It also helped in my steady weight gain. Anyone else have these problems with Depo?

I got pregnant on the depo shot. I was a little past due for a shot but still, what are the chanced of that?

I'm 44 years old and haven't had a period since Feb 8. I'm on a 21 day cycle. I've skipped 3 or 4 times before (in the last couple of years) but never missed two cycles in a row. I've been under a fair bit of stress lately - could that be the reason.....and no I am not pregnant, I had a period since I last had sex and I've had a tubal ligation :)

Stress is one of the main causes for someone to miss their period. Drugs and illness being the other three.

I think the shot is about 99.99% effective. Which means you have a 0.01% chance of pregnancy every time you have sex.

Been busy Zilla? ;)

you might not want to completely rule out the pregnancy option. My aunt had a tubal ligation done after her second child, and she got pregnant and had a third a couple of years later. and you can appear to have your period and still be pregnant, something happens where you still bleed so that you think you arent. Again, this happened to my aunt and she would bleed like she had her period during each of her three pregnancies all the way up until the fifth month.

the other thing you may want to consider is you might be entering the beginning stages of menopause. I know it may seem like you're at an early age, but my mom started going through it about 2 years ago when she was 42.

the stress does play a huge factor in your period too. it can either make you skip or make it come earlier. different things happen with different people. if you're really worried or wondering about it, then you may want to visit your doctor to see.

Fertile gal! :)

Actually, you'll ovulate before you get your period again, so if you're past due your shot it is certainly possible to get pregnant. (as you well know)

Many women breast-feeding babies think they're safe until they have a period but - ooops.

That's why there are lots of babies just 12-15 months apart . . .

I would agree with Willing on this one - double check your pregnancy status - (cheap to find out - $6 at Walmart)

There is anecdotal evidence of vasectomies and tubal ligations reversing themselves - it is a slight chance, but still there. (Actually, every time I'm the slightest bit late I look at my husband and tell him if his 'nads have reattached themselves to his pipelines he's in BIG trouble! LOL)

Do you have any other symptoms you cannot explain? It really sounds as if you ought to check with your doctor - even just a phone call. As Willing said, it is early for this, but menopause (like going through puberty) does take years to complete. There will be missed periods here and there, then normal cycles for awhile.

Sometimes I think it would be a helluva easier to have a dick.

*Sigh*

(Nahh, just kidding - don't want one - too much responsibility!!) :D

PCOS and "Time of the Month" fertility

EXCELLENT Information!

And - fellow geek here! :D Before we conceived our second child I charted my cycles. I found that even though my cycle is around 28 days, I tend to ovulate very early. We didn't have any difficulty with conception, but I know some couples who have, and I think it really helps for the woman to have a clue what is happening in her body at what time!

And in addition to the change in temperature before ovulation, your own vaginal moisture does undergo significant changes. Right before (and during) ovulation it becomes very clear, slippery, sort of "stretchy", and seems to be the consistency of egg white. This is so happy little sperm can swim up those strands to the fallopian tubes.

Immediately AFTER ovulation, your moisture becames more opaque and very thick. (Almost to prevent anything from swimming upstream?)
:D

Being the hubby of a woman with PCOS (PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrom) we have tried about everything to conceive - I can say that "counting days" hasn't helped us.. Our doc told us to check the consistancy of the mucus and the position of the opening of the uturus (backed up by hormone tests from the doctor of course) to determine the "most likely time of fertility", the mucus should be thin like the eggwhite of an egg - and the opening of the uturus should be "low"... After two AI's and two years of "doing it right", we still haven't gotten the result we want.

Further to the above post - I finally got my period, wouldn't you know it, the day I make the appointment to see the doctor  He took some blood to check my hormone levels and will be keeping an eye on me, he said that stress was the most likely cause but he wasn't ruling anything out *sigh of relief* ;) :)

I don't really understand all of this. I mean, if you dont' have any kids yet, why not just do it everyday? (and 2or more times on some of them?) Once you do have kids, you'll be lucky sometimes to get it once a month.

When trying to conceive you want the maximum amount of semen per shot, so to speak. So you try to save it up and only use it when you know your parter is ovulating. Or at least, that would seem to be the reasoning to me.

Heres a question of my own.

My girlfriend is about to get on the pill (Orthotricyclene). How soon after she begins can we have sex without a condom without risk of pregnancy (discounting the risk of the pill alone)?

Should we wait a day? A week? A month?

Doctors will say wait until she completes one full month of pills.

(My OB told me that was overkill - and that one week was sufficient.)

It seems like that would make sense, but many books on this subject explain it a different way.

They make comparisons about sperm quality instead of sperm quantity.

Both are important, obviously, but you only need one swimmer to conceive. Healthy swimmers are vital for healthy babies.

Books suggest sex every 2-3 days, beginning several days before ovulation. Start with fresh sperm!! If you haven't had sex in a week or more, they recommend protected sex (or other fun things - lol) to "clear the lines" and start building up a new batch!

Male sperm swim faster, so if you manage to have sex right at the time you conceive, you may have a boy. Female sperm are stronger and survive longer in the Fallopian tubes, so if you have sex a few days prior to ovulation, there may be sperm camped out waiting for the egg to descend.

It takes three months to grow sperm, by the way, so it would be a good idea during that time for men to refrain from all the things women must while pregnant: caffeine, alcohol, nutrasweet, any medications . . .

You want healthy swimmers!!

when I started on the pill, the doc told me it's three months to be sure, one month is iffy but will be okay for sex wtih a condom.

just a word to the wise though, be forewarned that with orthotricyclen she may become overly moody and cry over just about anything (just a few experiences of several I know that took it, including me).

I tried the pill.. it was AWFUL. I was a moody, nasty, hormonal crazy psycho bitch, and felt dizzy and faint and spacey a lot of the time. I quit that shit. My body does not like medications.

My ex & I (4 and a half years) stuck pretty much to the rhythm method, or him cumming in my ass. Never got knocked up, lucky me!

Nice thread, sweetnpetite!

(Sighs) I wish it was that easy.. We've tried the "rabbit" method,
heck - we even stood her on her head to try that too... We ended up going to a fertility specialist, as a post read - you want to make sure to have good swimmers - which i had 80% good and the rest was either "Big headed", "Multi tailed" or "Curly Tailed" (Yeah we had some good laughs about that) and sperm analysis showed an adequate number of swimmers (more than 30million), the problem with women that has PCOS is that their body acts as an insulin resistant diabetic where hormone levels are changing rapidly.. Some months her cycle would be 27 days and others 35! Therefor we went to the specialist every 2 days when approaching the "hot-zone". Intra-vaginal Ultrasound was taken (and i'm talking about TAKING IT the wand was a foot and a half) to see if the ovaries had dropped an egg (she even used
fertility shots to trigger the ovaries) -- but it still didn't work out.
The doctor wanted us to continue to come back, because "it's a mystery" why we never got pregnant... Unfortunately we do not have health insurance, and we have already spent more than $30k ... So we're leaving it to higher powers to see if we'll be blessed -- if not -- we'll look at it as a blessing not to have kids.
(Leaves more room for sex anyhow) :D

Yeah, as a mother of three, i sometimes fantasise about being a full time sex slave, he he he. But you know we have to keep all the goodies put away hidden and locked up. (Kids are nosy too. Some toys you *really* don't want them discovering when they go searching for hidden christmas presents, lol.)

Anyway, I'm interested in herbs and tea, so I've been doing some reading and I remember that camomile tea is thought to help increase fertility. It is known to help with menstral cramps (and I use it for that myself) by relaxing the ovaries. Aparently some think this relaxing effect aids in conception. Cammomile tea is safe unless you are alergic so you might try having a cup after dinner every night- it helps you relax and can make you drowsy so its not the best morning beverage. Plus a lot of times people do concieve after they have stopped trying or even after they adopt so I think overall relaxation is very important.

On a spiritual level, take some time to seriously consider if the both of you are really truly ready. Maybe there are things that you need to do first, or issues to deal with. I know it sounds a littel corny, but I believe that things happen when there supposed to and that we have lessons to learn that the universe will pretty much make us learn weather we like it or not. Also, make sure that she gets her teeth cleaned and her vision and hearing tested and any other medical tests that she might need before you concieve. Dental health especially is important to a healthy pregancy. (Don't remeber the details exactly)

Here are some other findings. Be sure to check with your doctor to make sure they are safe, and of course don't put all of your hope in them, but they might be worth a try.

In India, asparagus is used to promote fertility, reduce menstral cramping and increase milk production in nursing mothers. In the western world it has been regarded as an aphrodesiac. (sounds no-lose to me, its good for you too-high in folic acid) Eat the young shoots and seeds or 1tsp daily of powder from the seed, by mixing it in juice.

Fo-ti is used in china to increase fertility and is available in capsule form. (take up to 3 daily)

Ho shou wu fo-ti (same as above?) is widely available in health food stores and herb shops in either capsule or extract form. Believed to promote fertility in both sexes.

Which reminds me- have you been checked as well? I can't remember if you already said then I apologize. But it sounds like a good idea if you haven't.

I hope this helps at least a little.

A month! Curses!

But thanks for all the replies. I know that the pill can have some pretty nasty side effects on some women. I just have to basicly hope it doesn't with mine (shes crazy enough eh? ;) )

She's always suffered from really bad mestrual cramps (REALLY bad, as in, unable to move because of the pain bad) so even if she wasn't sexually active, her gyno would have likely given them to her to try and help prevent them.

My wife (when we got married 7 years ago) went on the pill,
her blood pressure shot so high that she vomited! Dr's office
said that it was a good thing she stopped taking them (even
before being able to see the doc) or she could have had a stroke.
