In Texas, blacks are protesting police violence in a particularly Southwestern way: By invoking their right to open carry. On Wednesday, more than 30 members of the newly-formed Huey P. Newton Gun Club gathered to march through South Dallas with rifles, shotguns, and AR-15s. The group eventually entered a restaurant with their weapons while Dallas police officers were inside eating lunch.

"The recent murders of unarmed black, brown, and whites across the United States of America has eradicated trust in the police," the gun club's website states.

No, not good for them. I understand their frustration. It is mine. But arming up to fight an oppressive government that kills you at will rarely works out.
 
I wonder if Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense will go after them.

More power to them, though I don't think walking into a eatery during cop lunch hour was too smart unless they gave advance warning. All it would take is one fool holding his weapon wrong and...Kablooie, another evening headline.

It wasn't. But we need to stop teaching in school that the 2nd Amendment is to protect you from the government and instead teaching the law is the way. But you being you don't see that.

The 2nd Amendment was written with protection of the citizens from a government in mind, they did after all just finish fighting a revolution. But YOU being YOU don't see that.

If I was in that eatery I would have shaken every one of their hands then asked them where they go shooting?

Your preaching" the law is the way" but when the gun club guys exercised their rights under the law to make a statement, You have a problem with that. Why do you not want black men armed??? Do armed black men scare you?

Lastly, you don't have a clue about who I am or what I'm about, but feel free to keep making ASSumptions it suits you.

While that was the line they fed the idiots under them that wasn't the goal. However I think if blacks started arming up to shoot police in their neighborhood you'd change your tune immediately.

Yes, the law is the way, the gun club is acting irresponsibly and if they get large enough they will get people killed. Yes armed black men scare me. The cops don't need another reason to shoot me.

In the us you get labelled african american, asian american etc... while whites are just called americans.

In Canada we refer blacks and asians in Canada as Canadians.

I wonder why that is? (Actually I don't)

I'd call it a lack of pride on your part to be honest. I'm African American, not American. I'd be American if I was in Canada because that would be the important detail. Just like I wouldn't talk shit about Texas or pride of California in Canada. But in the States I'ma Californian and from LA (unless you're close enough to know that Fontana isn't actually LA) so on and so forth.

When police up here shoot someone, the headline reads, "Police shoot teenager". Not "Police shoot black/Muslim/Native/Asian teenager".

We also don't have a large black population that can easily be targeted. Our minorities are scattered across a large range of colours. We allowed blacks in to save them from slavery but not as immigrants. We have more Asians than blacks.

We are always taught that the US is a "melting pot" while we are a "mosaic" of different cultures. They might have that wrong. Give us two or three generations and our western culture can make you and your children as "white" or "native" as everyone else.

Is there no racism in Canada? Not fucking likely. We have ignorant haters and bigots up here too. Our hatred is more fashion. Who ever is the latest ethnic group emigrating to Canada is the target. Then a new group comes along and the first group is accepted. Irish/Chinese/Italians/Ukrainians/East Indians/Vietnamese/Middle easterners.

If some white dude got up on a soapbox and started to call for the extermination of Muslims or saying young blackmen got it coming, he might get shot by a police officer.

Perhaps we should leave our dead ancestors to fight their battles wherever they are?

Also, I'm glad to hear you've gotten over those minor problems with the annoying French-Canadians.

French canadians are from a french province, therefore they are french canadian, einstein.
