I know it says 7 days approx. to approve posts but if you rework it and submit the reworked post does it delay the approval further.this maybe a dumb question..

It was running about 5 days for postings but a contest started today so that might add a few more and it being a first story that might add even more.
So, right now 7 to 9 days might be a good range.
And fiddling with the buttons will only make it longer.
