Alright, so I just had a penile skin bridge surgically removed. The urologist told me I can't have sex or masturbate for four weeks, lest I go back under his knife.

The problem is I've never gone that long without at least self-relief, so I'm looking for tips on how to survive the next month without climbing the walls.

I had surgery on my penis. For obvious reasons, it took a very long time to heal.
As for relief, a vibrator under the head of the penis should do the job.

Start playing World of Warcraft.
Decreases libido like a charm. Decreases everything else too, though.:D

Seriously now, when I got the same surgery as you, I didn't climb the walls. I found hobbies for myself that occupied my time and attention. I didn't stop watching porn, but found it kinda pointless in most cases.

Thanks, I will try that. I do have the means to sink into super compartmentalization mode: six new books to read and at least fifty hours left with my current Fallout: New Vegas character.

One of those new books is Under Mr. Nolan's Bed, though. I might put that one aside until my penis isn't such a hazardous mess.

I can't help you with advice, but I'm wondering why the urologist didn't bring this up. We have a plethora of drugs that reduce libido, usually as an unwanted side effect. But some of these could be used "off label" to help you.

1. Find a bench vise.

2. Place your scrotum between the jaws of the vise.

3. Clamp your scrotum in the vise until you are about to pass out.

4. It will take about a month until you think about sex again. :D

I'm wondering that as well. One would think this is a problem that needs addressing. The urologist didn't prescribe any painkillers or antibiotics either. He just told me to rub on Neosporin once the wound started to scab over.

Almost two weeks later and the 'itch' comes and goes, although one look at the mess is enough to discourage me from touching too much. I have had a problem with morning wood popping open the scab.

I should probably address these issues tomorrow during my followup appointment.

You could take the quagmire method (family guy reference) and focus on things that basically kill your libido.

One of my personal favorites is thinking of your grand mother in a "wicked weasel" bikini

I was going to suggest these

But it looks like a medieval torture device. And the hassle wouldn't be worth it.

I'd suggest hormones/drugs to keep your libido down. Consult a friendly, neighborhood doctor for prescription.

How do you pee out of those!?

Because you should never take drugs unless you absolutely must.
Controlling your masturbation is not such an impossible task that it requires taking pills.

You should understand that drugs that reduce libido are basically poisons that affect your body in many negative ways. Sometimes they are the lesser evil when they can help cure other problems that you have, but drugs are never harmless.

That's a good point. And I would expect any competent urologist to be aware of the potential effects. As usual, it's a trade-off ... you may risk a side effect, but if main effect is to promote a smooth healing process and reduce the risk of post-operative damage, that's a risk that the OP may be willing to take.

I'm not going to make a judgment about masturbation control not being an "impossible task that it requires taking pills." My experience (obviously second-hand) is that erections are often involuntary, and happen even during sleep. So that's a factor that has to be put into the balance.
