Happy Valentine's Day💗

Is red the theme here? I celebrate Discount Chocolate day but don't really care about getting VD.

Do you guys celebrate?

Not sure if you are asking me, but J and I did last night because during the week we work opposite hours and rarely see each other awake for more than 30 minutes-1 hour.
Dinner in our favorite Italian restaurant with much too loud live Italian music in such a tiny space. We usually go there for lunch so the music was a surprise.

That's romantic.
Outside of the too loud Italian music.

Thanks. We passed the romantic stage years ago but in the past 5 months he randomly brings home a dozen roses...I think that counts as romantic.
At least it did until J finally confessed that coming home a certain way, he passes a guy on a corner peddling roses to make ends meet for his family and he always feels badly for him.
So he goes from romantic to noble in 60 seconds and I get the benefit.

How could I not love him?

That's even fucking better.

I used to give $$$ to a homeless guy who hung out near Penn Station who looked like my Grandpa.
My uncle told us about him and he was always there. Couldn't help it.

We celebrated sort of, this weekend. I don't find romance in a meal out on Valentine's Day. I love him a lot. K like valentines, but I am not so keen on commercialising love. I wore a dark red nail polish as an acknowledgment to the weekend before the day. He got it :)

We stopped it years ago, i.e., no cards, gifts, chocolates. We eat out on weekends because we get so little time together and J doesn't want me spending so much time in the kitchen.

This was only out of the ordinary be cause this is our lunch place. I was surprised to see tablecloths in our little restaurant because it's totally chill for lunch.

We did Valentines day in the first couple years we were together, now we don't.

We might acknowledge it in passing, but we don't really celebrate.
