CHYOO2 down?

Ahh, so it's not just me. I just signed up to post and ask what was going on, so this is rather fortuitous heh. ^_^;

Down for me now

Maybe it's unstable today? I'm getting no response from the server.

I far from frequent the main sight but if them classifying Chyoo as 'new' is a recent edit then that would should give hope for good things in the future. I prefer to think positively anyhow so that could just be my bias.

The nice thing about this bet is that it is a win/win situation. If I win, y'all get new threads from me, not that this wouldn't happen, but hey. So what. If I lose, then we get a better CHYOO.

Hello,

When I try to complete my registration here:

http://www.chyoo.com/index.php

I get the following error:

"Error querying: The MySQL server is running with the --read-only option so it cannot execute this statement"

The same thing happens when beginning a story:

"Error querying: The MySQL server is running with the --read-only option so it cannot execute this statement"

Could someone fix this? Or point me in the right direction? Sorry if it's the wrong thread.

We've all been having this problem a few days now. Something happened to CHYOO, so Laurel and Manu had to restore an older version and lock the site down like this. You can find answers on how to read stories here and in the post immediately following - and I'd suggest skipping a story with immersive text for now since the lockdown also renders those stories incomplete - but accounts and threads can't be created yet.

I have a lot of speculation right now, but then I've only just gotten here since about yesterday. Among the questions I'm filled with, does this have anything to do with changes elsewhere, such as the live chat and the forum? It's my understanding from skimming the forums last night that Chyoo is technically a separate website, although it shares its forums here with Literotica.

My premise here is that I could have sworn there were /dozens/ more threads in Chyoo General just last night, and now I only see eight.

Sorry if I seem overly inquisitive. There really aren't too many sites that permit this kind of content nowadays, especially given how corrupted the internet's been thanks to corporate commercialism.

There are only eight threads if your account is still set to show only the forum default; I believe it shows all threads on you first log in and on subsequent log ins it only shows threads that have had a post in the past month, but I'm not 100% sure.

If you want to see anything older, you need to go to "User CP," select "Edit Options," scroll down to "Thread Display Options," and change the Default Thread Age Cut Off. If you select "Show all threads," you'll see every thread created by someone not on your ignored list.

The forum hasn't had many problems, the worst being that Literotica does go down at times - though not nearly as often as CHYOO. And yes, as of approximately October 2012, CHYOO and Literotica have been completely separate, no longer sharing accounts and account passwords.

Oh, sorry. That /really/ threw me off.

I don't have a login on the chyoo site, so that member.story.map doesn't work for me. Is there anyway I can go about reading stories?

Use the advanced search. After selecting "advanced search," type the name of the story into the "keyword(s)" slot, then selecting "story title and synopsis" and "show results as threads." If you want to start the story at the beginning, go to the "sort results by" drop bar and select "deepest thread" from the list and then ticking "in ascending order."

They haven't said anything more than the last PM I posted. I figure if we hear nothing by tomorrow (a week after the last PM), I'll ask for an update and more information.

Don't know if it's my computer or not, but the site's been acting up on me a quite a bit lately. Every time I've tried to add a new thread, the screen just goes white on me. If it happened once or twice, it wouldn't be a problem, but now I'm starting to get annoyed.

It's doing that for me as well. Hopefully they'll succeed in their attempts to make a brand new Chyoo, so we can put all these anachronistic technical issues behind ourselves.

I believe that Chyoo 2 has stopped working at all. Tried to advance my stories and no go. Very annoying. Need new Chyoo asap

It's only having problems with backwards navigation, adding threads, and linking threads. We've already established a few tricks to overcome these to a degree, but we're still looking for a solution that allows us to rate a thread at the end of the line.

Although, according to Friedman, the new one should be here in any day now.

I think that's CHYOO being CHYOO. It's up again, for me at least, which leads me to conclude it's just another of CHYOO's oh so frequent and pre-"sdffs" problems.
