I do think the lube might have lessened the effect. The ginger root does not require lubing even when going into the ass. The oils it secretes can be affected by any liquid even water.

I do think the closer the time span between the shaving of the root and the insertion the greater the effect will tend to be. I do also believe that excessive handling could lessen the effect. Yes, as Fury has said, lube is not needed when figging. And, any added substance will lessen the effect, because it dilutes the ginger oils.
