Logged in, but then try to access chat, and fail

I log into Lit successfully. I can log in and log out. But then when I try to access chat, I get a box titled "Authentication Failed", and then data entry boxes within that box for Username and Password. I enter the data correctly, and get the same "Authentication Failed" box. There is no way, apparently for me to access chat. Might this ID have been banned?
This has not happened previously.
I have not changed my password.
