I am a retired software engineer. That's what the paper says, not "burnt-out codemonkey". I started in the days of 8008 math processors, and fucked up a lot. I have been outsmarted by devices with less intelligence than a fungus and 'way dumber than an aphid. There is no shame in that, only recognition of reality: You needn't be smart. Just be persistent.
