What is "g" doing in the formula in the title of your thread?

a quick google renders this:
"Every object in the Universe attracts every other object with a force directed along the line of centers for the two objects that is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the separation between the two objects" (3). The law can be summed up in a equation F sub g equals G multiplied by m sub1 times m sub2 all over r squared. The equation looks like this,

Fg = G*m1*m2/r^2

F sub g is the gravitational force, m1 and m2 are the masses of the two objects, r is the separation between the two objects and G is the Universal Gravitational constant.
This is how the force of gravity between two objects is calculated.
which i guess is wrong since it should be d not r? :confused:

and they still got a typo in! check out their version of 'equation' :eek:
