So for those of you that read my ramblings, ya'll already know that each summer, Jewels and I choose a summer drink..... We've been drinking a great little Cucumber Marty for some time now. But could never get it just right when we would try to make them at home.... Anywho, I got it right this summer and I thought some of you Marty drinkers out there might enjoy this one...... Kisses....
Recipe: For 1 drink
2-oz (2 shots) Cucumber vodka
(Homemade recipe follows if you're feeling adventurous)
3/4-oz (almost a shot) simple syrup
3/4 to 1-oz fresh lime or lemon juice (I prefer lime)
and 1 to 1 1/2 Tbs cucumber puree
(recipe follows)
Tajin Clasico Seasoning for rim of Marty glass
(can be found at most supermarkets,
you may have to ask just where the
hell in the store it's located though, lol)
Chill Marty glass(es) with ice.
Pour some Tajin into a saucer
Fill shaker with ice. Add first 3 ingredients into shaker.
Shake gently not to bruise the ice.
Dump ice from glass, run a little lime or lemon juice around outside rim of glass. Run rim of glass into seasoning.
Add 1 to 1 1/2 Tbs. of cucumber puree into bottom of glass. Pour Marty over it and do not stir. Just let it do it's thing.
Add Cucumber slice or cucumber ribbons for garnish if you so desire.
Sit back and enjoy!!!!
Cucumber puree:
1 to 2 English Cucs. peeled and seeded
1 to 2 Tbs fresh lime or lemon juice
Pinch of Kosher salt
Put in blender and puree untill smooth as applesauce
(If still to thick add more juice)
Refrigerate the unused
Homemade Cucumber Vodka recipe
1 bottle of Vodka
(your choice but the smoother the better)
1 large English cucumber, peeled and seeded
Cut cucumber into small slices, add to a large glass jar with a tight fitting lid.
Save vodka bottle to put vodka back in after you make cucumber vodka.
Place jar in fridge for 3 days (NO LONGER, any longer and it will turn bitter)
Remove cucumber pieces by straining and throw away....
or you can eat 'em if you dare
Pour vodka back into it's bottle and keep in fridge as you should with any vodka, lol......

I'm a Marty girl here, big time... Make me a great vodka Dirty Marty and I'm yours, or a Sapphire clean for that matter......
As for those so called ones everyone's got on their menu, I must say this is the only one that I've came across that I liked... It's cool and refreshing, not sweet but you get a hint of sweetness and the Tajin rim gives it a bite.....
