A big time lit theif. Recognize yours or others?

I notice these are older 2008/2010 and the authors have not been here since those years. I doubt these would have ever been caught.

Shows you how bright she is, its the newer ones she should have been burying.

Heh, you said that and the next story was stolen from an author who has two stories up this year. I'll leave them feedback with the link to this thread.

Anyways, there were two I wasn't able to find except for an except from a Smashwords page that has since been deleted [Google hadn't caught up yet]. From what everyone's said about her grammar I'd say the first story was written by her, which would have hidden it from a search.

All you need to know about her writing is that stupid Breaking taylor series she has been hawking for the last few years makes 50 shades look like Hemingway.

FWIW, this is latest thing she put on her FB page (the one that's linked to in this thread):

The Billionaire's Reality Show part 3 is out and part 4 is in the works.

Coming of Age part 3 is also in the works.

My NEWEST and most modern story - Clara, is almost ready to be posted! This one is for all of my vampire loving readers -- AND it is a mainstream novel! Meaning no age restrictions! Clara will be a serial with an adventure that will have you turning pages!!!

And to those who have said a few things about me --- no press is bad press. I do not partake of other people's drama, never have and never will. But every time you mention my name, provide links to my works, blog, etc it is PRESS and any entertainer knows no press is bad press.

So continue doing it by all means.I have sold 15 copies of Breaking Taylor today alone!!!

I'd put a comment on her page with some proof if someone could provide links; she hasn't taken anything of mine that I could see, but since I don't write in the categories she seems to be stealing from, that would explain it.

Someone shotgun commented on her Facebook page about plagiarism.

The recent posts (3) that this morning I saw tagged with plagiarism accusing comments are gone.

This is a new post started this afternoon and provides most of her information from the deleted posts. That is a taunting post. Someone questioned her gender earlier (Pilot?) From the start of this, my hubby and I both have said, "She's got a lot of balls."

Book 13, her title: Prelude to Pleasure http://www.literotica.com/s/red-4

Book 11, her title: Melody's Anal Training http://www.literotica.com/s/pain-and-punishment-1 As a note, it seems she spent some time editing this and adding a little bit here and there. Wonder if they were a victim of the volunteer editing?

Book 8:, her title: Humiliating the Rich Girl http://www.i.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=480592

Book 3, her title: The Billionaires First Lesson in Trust http://www.literotica.com/s/maggies-lesson

Book 4, her title: Captured and Used http://www.literotica.com/s/the-blindfold-7

Her title: Claiming Bethany http://www.literotica.com/s/torn-down Changed the name of the Playhouse to Gentleman's Playmates.

Thank you. I've just posted something on my blog, FWIW. That will also go on Amazon and Goodreads.

ETA: I don't have an account at Amazon under my pen name and not sure I can make one since it'd be tied to a credit card and I don't want that. I posted a comment that seemed to disappear on her FB page, so I shared her status instead, with my explanation about her stealing at the top.

For Goodreads, I found her page, but the "Justin's Vacation" that's listed (as opposed to the collection with it in Amazon) doesn't link to anything. I may put a comment up there as well, if I can.

If you have an FB page, you can friend me and share the status. I'll put the link here if it isn't breaking any rules. If it is I'll delete it and send via PM as requested. FWIW, it's easy enough to set up an FB page and give minimal (or false, I guess) info. At least it used to be.

ETA 2: I've left a comment under the title "Justin's Vacation" on her Goodreads list. Again, since I can do this under my pen name, if someone provides me titles of hers vs. what was stolen, I can add to my blog, share again on FB, etc.

ETA 3: I've got a couple of books up at Amazon via a little group called Yellow Silk Designs (who are looking for more authors, btw), and emailed that group. Not sure what else to do except get the word out.

Anyone know if it's worth posting about this on AbsoluteWrite, the big forum? I have an account there but haven't used it in a couple of years.

With the number of stories that she had listed for sale that were plagiarized from Lit, can anyone take a rough guess, based on estimated number of stories she sold multiplied by how much an author earns for each story, how much money she's actually made off this scam?

I guess I'm just wondering if this is more than just plagiarism, and actually fraud (isn't it illegal to earn money through deception?). Seems like a crime to me.

Yes, AbsoluteWrite would be a good place to post (given existing proof of the theft). If there are any other erotica discussion sites, they be even better (in addition to, not instead of).

You're quite welcome.

My wife says she can get you the titles to some of the stories tomorrow.

Nope. You get anywhere close to legal action, everything stops without a formal copyright being held. The courts have protected themselves against anything coming anywhere close to she said/she said circular arguments. They'll accept absolutely no arguments on who owned/created what/when--this will include claims of fraud.

The deeper something like this gets, the more aware folks on all sides (including those planning to rip stories off) are going to become that any thought of protection of material posted for free on the Internet without a formal copyright backup is a cloud of smoke. (And even if you hold a formal copyright, the job of tracking down a perpetrator on the Internet is like floating through Never Never Land.)

That's fundamentally why the Web site should be interested in what's going on with this. And, speaking of that, where are Laurel and Manu? Today's extra effort went to posting the monthly contest wins for November 2011.

You'd think she'd be on here trying to collect evidence from those whose stories have been ripped off so she and Manu can go out to do that battle that folks say they do for Lit. authors on theft cases. Just another cloud of smoke?

Well, my "proof" is that my story has been here and on SOL since Nov. 2010, based on submissions pages. And I put it on Lush as well although I forget the date but I can find it. I'll try to post there as well. And I can add to my blog at SOL.

Hey, has anyone added any info about this to their profile here?

I put up a post on the FetLife LitErotica group with a brief description and link to this thread.

Okay. Might not be able to do much tomorrow -- getting ready to travel -- but should be able to do more at least when I get back from the weekend.

I'm not questioning that you have the proof needed (for your case). I'm saying it's time for Lit. to get off the dime, collect cases like yours, and start making waves. (If they want their author-dependent Web site to stay in business).

No need to go legal with this. Multiple cases of being able to show the material was posted before E.F. Turner submitted it for publication should be enough to convince distributors to zero her out (Smashwords has already caught on. Amazon has only deleted 9 works out of 300 today. Who knows how long they'll take to zero her out--they're in a great limbo now--for Amazon--they can just keep any money made on any of her listed works).

A publisher is the best one to collect these cases and present them--and to post about them on the Internet. Lit. is the publisher here. There appear to be multiple cases (maybe hundreds) of swiping from Literotica. Guess who should be moving on this.

Oh I knew I couldn't go any legal route, and that's fine. Risk you take and all. But I'll do what I can to call her on it and that includes, now that I think about it, PM'ing Laurel.

Good to know some progress has been made with Amazon, small as it is.

I just want to clarify, for those reading here who are new to publishing, that in the US, copyright is automatic as soon as the story has posted/published here or anywhere. There is no "formal copyright", but there is copyright registration (online form, $35, copy of your work) that would be required before legal action can be taken, and damages can only be awarded if you register within 3 months of publication. Copyright itself, though, exists without the author having to do anything. Practically speaking, that does not keep anyone from ripping you off, but it does lay claim to the work and give you a number of legal rights, and it's important to know that your work is copyrighted automatically.

Oh, God, are we going to do this merry-go-round again? There is no "sort of" on U.S. copyright protection. If you formally register (and, yes, it's a formal procedure), you have some legal protections (if you can get your hands on the perpetrator before your money and patience run out--which is close to impossible on the Internet). If you don't formally register you have nothing but moral suasion, luck, and nerve going for you.

Let's not play this "let's just pretend" game again. It's going to get you nothing that's real.

You can argue with me about this if you wish, but I helped set up the system that has kept any of this out of the courts, so you will lose--if only because you have no reality to back you up.

The Amazon search facility isn't good enough to let you find stories. I tried to turn up yours that way, LC, and couldn't get it.

But you can do it the other way around. I opened a random book, "Erotica Collection #10," chose a phrase from the first page that didn't have any names in it, and searched on Google:

site:literotica.com doorway opposite the velvet curtains

Turned up "Valentine's Day Shopping Trip" by pilot63 (an unprolific author who was active only briefly), published 1/20/11 on Literotica:

http://www.literotica.com/s/valentines-day-shopping-trip

It looks identical except that the names have been changed.

Amazing.

I just tried that with one of my stories (Mariella's Secret) & found a match on x-hamster:

https://www.google.com/webhp?source...er+chaise+lounge+by+the+open+window.&safe=off

Google says the identical phrase from my story is on X-hamster.com (First Time Porn Stories Page 12)

I went to the link but I wasn't able to find my story. Any ideas how to proceed since that thread has over 600 pages?
