By now we've become inured to the weekly, sometimes daily announcements of another investigation of the con artist. But just when the con artist thought everything was out in the open, word comes that even his inauguration shindig is under investigation.

No less than the Wall Street, a newspaper owned by the con artist's friend Rupert Murdoch, is reporting the 2017 inauguration committee of the con artist is under investigation for, wait for it, possible financial abuses. Specifically, whether the committee, registered as a nonprofit, accepted donations from individuals looking to gain influence or access to the new administration.

This investigation "partly arises out of materials seized in the federal probe of former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's business dealings."

Oh oh, Shaggy. Looks like the police are digging even deeper.

DC court clears out entire floor for grand jury hearing in mysterious Mueller case

Buzzfeed’s courts and justice reporter Zoe Tillman is reporting on a secret grand jury proceeding in DC, but it’s so secret no one knows what it’s about.

Tillman first points to a Politico piece from October: “Mueller link seen in mystery grand jury appeal.”

After detailing some court docs as background, Tillman tweets, “They’ve sealed not only the courtroom, but the whole floor.” It’s getting a lot of attention:

?????

Well, obviously, people making large donations to an affair such as this are looking to score brownie points. This is so obvious I don't see why they even bother investigating it.

The inauguration celebration is subject to the laws on campaign contributions. There are laws against foreign contributions to campaigns, with the criminality augmented by not reporting them. I'm not surprised you don't understand any of that, Box.

More important is accounting how the funds were used. Tracing that down with the Trump inauguration funds is going to be quite interesting--it's already putting a finger on the Trump family and so far, although the inauguration committee says there's been a really great audit, there's no evidence of there being one at all.

I don't expect you to understand that either, Box. The good news is what you think about any of this means nothing to anyone but you.
