He finally got a team on the ground that did the work, county by county, that allowed his message to be heard; as a result, several counties that had gone Obama in 2012 were flipped. Email leaks showed the DNC against the only other candidate with a chance to be nominated in favor of HRC. Hilly won a plurality - more than any other candidate - but she did not win a majority of the popular vote. She won big in CA and NY, for diverse reasons, but did relatively poorly in the other 48 states and the other jurisdictions.
