Seconding Eve's recommendation

two poems from, adulterous daddy a new voice with a quite peculiar style.

Hilarity is a wonderfully insane rant with excellent rhythm, pacing and shameless wit.

The Luminous doesn't flow as well, and I can't quite figure out what he wants to say, but it's still worth a read.

Happy Tuesday Poets

Weeel...twenty-two poems were published on the New Page today so this should be a fairly quick mention of the ones that caught my eye this morning.

vampiredust posted two little poems, Mother Crow and The Dying Whiskey. I like the latter. A short little bit with a great title.

She is not a blonde! by My Erotic Trail is written true to his style, humor in poetry. It made me grin and I'm partial to punchline myself.

Of the twenty-two poems submitted, Angelwings7 submitted eleven of them. She's been a Literotica member since 2003, but hasn't posted poetry until now so welcome her to the Poetry side of the house.

That's it folks. I'm sure there is something I missed that you liked on the New Poems page so read, comment, vote, what have you. Support your own kind. I need to the same thing. I've been slacking myself and I will get out there to comment as well.

Wednesday's new poems reviews...

There are thirteen new ones today, five by one poet, and the others by a handful.

The one that really floats my boat (forgive me, I'm daydreaming about a vacation) is...

insalubrious
by 4degrees

I'm not shy. I had to visit dictionary.com. I'll save you the energy:

Not promoting health; unwholesome: an insalubrious environment.

Please feel free to drop in and link those that satisfy your own particular fancies. :)

Have a wonderful rest of the Wednesday.

Hey, look! It's Wednesday again. Triskaidekaphobics beware—they's 13 new poems posted for your perusal.

Perhaps my Haldol dose ain't right, 'cuz I'm feeling pretty schizophrenic about the day's offerings:
  • Then my mood swings towards a sing along with denis hale as he weaves his Song of Cleavage about some sweet demoiselle. That tactic never worked for me, but perhaps my baritone's uneven.
Check out all today's poems, people. My taste is reliably unreliable.

New Poems of Thursday February 23, 2006

There are 11 new submissions on this February day, and as I like to do, I start off with a non-erotic "spinner" from the archives.
note: There is now a thread titled "Two Poems" that invites you to do your own "spinning" and then report back on what you have found. - Try it, you just might like it! There are more good 'OLD' poems out there than 'NEW' ones, even on the best of days!

Today's Golden Oldie:
This work was posted in May of 2004, and I found this poem by Linbido on the tenth spin. I have always loved this poet's work. Read this and learn why. - Even YDD had praise for this poem!
Quiet In A Corner

Oh, it's just little me
bending spoons over here,
just a little suspension
of disbelief,
weaving aloud
in hi-fi 3D.

Tossing offhand spells,
tossing coins in wells,
breaking humbly free,
quietly.

Not for show, just for me,
like the hovering
bumblebee,
a kite adrift
on jet streams
and anchorless dreams.

So don't you mind
my flimsy way
of spirit seeking,
flower speaking
thoughts astray,
through the looking glass
and far, far away.

Don't let
a little tryout of thesis
and my telekinesis
disturb your circles.

Let me tinker
on my own over here
for tonight
with my healing hands
and my x-ray sight.

I mean you no harm,
and however I might
I could neither destroy
nor defile anything
with this wandering soul
but my own paradise
and your sense of control.

Levitating white lies,
mayflies of faith,
flicker through fantasies
here at my folded knees
patiently humming
the rhythm of trees.

Come sit for a while,
play an hour with me.
Dance candle flames
from fingertips,
moonlight
on your parted lips.

Believe,
or kindly
let me be.
***

Of the 11 poems today I only recognize two authors. Man Ray has 4 new poems, three of them erotic, and Lobomao posts one titled Kirby, which is chock-a-block full of alliteration, assonance, and homonymic word play. And being an all-day sucker for such verbal succor . . . "I choose Kirby for my team." :rose:

***

Back to the four of Grahame's crackers. The three erotic poems consist of:
come to me...
Lust is a lonely land...
A criminal villanelle?.

Of the three I prefer the short simplicity of the first, but must acknowledge the increasing skill that the author displays by writing such pieces as the last. Even he considers it as a step in a new direction; i.e. see his non-erotic plea Up in Court!.

***

Of the remaining poems none make me say that you must go read them, but the two that come closest are 1st and Santa Clara by FeloniusDrunk and yui's Talking in Your Sleep.

Now that leaves only four poems that I haven't mentioned, and none of them are extremely long, so you might want to give them a look also, 'cause you may like mushrooms on your pizza while I will hold out for anchovies and olives. - But if you are still hungry for more poetry, why not go read some more of my picked poet of the past? If you all comment or send her some feedback maybe we can lure back

It has worked with three other "lost" Lit. poets recently.

***

Please remember that our poets need your support, so Read Vote Comment Feedback. It won’t come back around if you don’t send it out! ;)

Regards, Rybka

Hello Poets -

Sixteen poems in all should make your morning reading flash by. Take a look at these poems, they interested me, maybe they will appeal to you too:

Shaman325's Chance(?) Meeting needs a little clean-up to be a great poem, but I still liked the image. The emotion he expressed in the last two stanzas was done nicely.

denis hale, so glad to see you again. Your work is always rapid-fired and fearless. I like the vibrant contrast to the more pastel poetry I read here. Audition
You know,
once upon a time
I allowed Kim Carnes and
Kiki Dee to pull
an awesome

all-night aural train on me—

their sweet vocal
chords sure enough
tickled my tingly prostate
as opal anal
rosaries,

and with brassy flat picks
strapped to their long-ass
fingers, they played
Dueling Banjos
Belegon makes the word Yes sound so deliciously evil.

sanctum is true to 4degrees' style. His an eye-catching write that appeals to both the mind and the ears if read aloud.

Wednesday 2006.03.01

Oh, man. Just my luck. Thirteen new poems again today, just like last week. Is Fate trying to tell me my number is up?

Perhaps. Nothing really grabbed me today, but I'm still shaking cobwebs out of my head. I think I'll just suggest you read them all and decide for yourselves.

Perhaps duckiesmut will have something to suggest later on this morning.

There seems to be a lot of rhyming poetry up for the 1st March.

Of all, I liked Belegon's Bad Memory the best, though I think it would help the poem's read to alter some of the line breaks.

New Poems of Thursday March 2, 2006

There are 18 new submissions on this first March Thursday, and as I always do, I start off with a non-erotic "spinner" from the archives.

Today's Blast from the Past:
This work was posted in June of 2003, and I found this poem by Magnolia13 on the 14th spin. I am not familiar with this author's work, but I thought this poem appropriate for this forum.
Typo

That first rush of
Print
The rush at seeing
your piece
your slice
your life
Knowing everyone sees it
with you.
Only after the high
you see the inconsistency
the little mistakes
that translation brings.
You see your life
in somebody else’s interpretation.
And you can’t blame
them for their
unconscious editing
blacking out their pain
crossing over your version
to get to their own truth.

Of the 18 new poems today, exactly half are erotic. And somewhat surprisingly, I find more erotic than non-erotic to be of above average quality.

The list starts today with what I find to be a rather unusual "rough sex" erotic poem. Unusual in that it is more elliptical than directly overt because it creates strong imagery but leaves them open for the reader to complete. The poet uses line breaks nicely and the alliteration makes for a smooth read. Go read Slathered Leg Sonia Z by sensuall

lobomao has two erotic poems today, and if you enjoy this poets word play as I do you should enjoy Tulips and passing. I think my favorite is the first.

This author also has one non-erotic poem up today that is worth reading: this just in

***

Other erotic poems posted today that I find are better than the average such fare at Literotica include:

A Man and A Woman - V - LeBroz
and
Kitty Porn - SelenaKittyn

***

On the non-erotic side:
mourningstar likes to rhyme and does it fairly well. She has two new offerings and my favorite of them is Mitchell's Funeral

***

standard fishy disclaimer:
Taste is always an individual thing so there certainly may be other poems out there today that you will thoroughly enjoy. If you find ones you really like on the New Poems page, please come back and tell us about them!

And please remember that our poets need your support, so Read Vote Comment Feedback. It won’t come back around if you don’t send it out! ;)

Friday, March 3

Twenty six new poems today. There is a nice reflective one by the reincarbated Vampiredust called The Yellow Fox that I enjoyed, and Denis Hale's Ode to Campbell Brown that, despite falling short of his usual eclat, still entertains.

I don't think there are any new poets today, but welcome correction.

Have a look, feel around, share any poems that you like.
