In the UK in the last few years there has been a revival of Spoken Word Poetry:

About five years ago I attended a 3-day course at our local university to perform poetry in public. I have performed some of my 'poems' at an open air venue as part of our annual summer festival. I had to be selective. Some of my poems posted on Literotica are unsuitable for an audience that includes children.
