So, hey, have some respect for our editors. I'm a writer, but I know I have issues and need an editor. But I know I'm a good editor of other people's stuff. So, when someone offers to edit for free? Feel special. Feel lucky. And be willing to be vulnerable. Because you are so not as good as you think you are. And you're probably too horny off your own story to see the massive errors you've got strewn throughout your piece. If an editor hands you back your work and says "great! just one misspelling!", maybe you should rethink that.

We're not magicians.. but we are volunteers willing to help, than just may have a bit of experience.

I'm mostly a writer, so I've had decades to get used to being edited. I try to respond to every edit I'm given. Usually I accept them, but sometimes the edits need to be discussed and differences worked out.
